If you have some "extra"time - take a monemt to visit the stables and go for a guided trail ride. Be sure to make your reservation first so they can get a friendly horse ready for you. These pictures are from the last gathering

Listen up campers! We are giving away a quilt again this year. My wife Laura has been busy getting this finished up for the gathering. Every campsite at the the gathering will be automatically given 1 chance for the drawing. Additionally, extras chances will be sold during the weekend if you choose to buy any. $1 for each additional ticket. Drawing to be held during the dinner Saturday night. It is approx. 66" x 76".

Time to name the "Tiki Doll". Several names have been entered for the name but we need more.

Name entries
#1 " Waimaka Helelei " The Stewarts
#2 "Pohihihi Kaikamahine" - Kay C.
#3 "Tiki Tear Bob" - Rich U.
#4 "Ku", the "Seizer of Land" - Kurt
#5 "TearMahi JerkerMoHo" - Rob C.
#6 "Queen Campkiki" - Scott S.
#7 Wahine-holoholo- Billy K.
#8 "Imalil Kampkuku" - Jordan O.
#9 "Me-Wanna-Kamp-Too-He" Len D.
#10 "Who Sure Tiki Camp Doll" Verna

Don't forget, the winner gets $25 for the most popular name.

"Tiki Doll hunt". The doll will be hidden (2) times each day on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and once on Sunday.

If you return the Tiki Doll to it's home (at Site #47), you will receive a $25 prize. (one prize per camp site)

Judging for the name will be done on the forum starting July 10. The winner will be announced at the CRA on Saturday evening.

BTW, her uncle just arrived in town from "The Islands" and will be there to greet her when you bring her home (to site #47)
He's anxious to see what happens at the CRA 2013 and so am I.

I'm a little late to the party but am planning on attending. New to teardrops but not camping. Just purchased a slightly used bare bones LG 5 wide and am trying to mod it to my taste, still pretty much a blank slate. I would really like to meet up with anyone that is planning on canoeing or kayaking during the event and will bring my canoe along. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated and I'll get busy reading up on the event (only 30+ pages to go thru). Looking foward to a great gathering.

You will be missed.

I've been looking into a Friday morning...early afternoon finish...@7 mile, canoe trip.

Anybody ever floated from Gosport back down to Spencer..??...

If you are up for company I would love to join you. I have room for another boat on my wagen and would be glad to help with a shuttle.

Thanks for the warm welcome. really looking forward to the weekend. I reserved the last electric site #159. Should be able to make it late on the 24th or midday the 25th. Will try to round something up for the auction, may have to be paddling related, canoeing that is......

Welcome Franks,

We're heading out the 22nd and stopping over in My to visit Larry and getting into Spencer on the 23rd. We hope to bring our yaks but will have to see.

Kay C. wrote:Newbie needs clarification..... ;thinking; This is our 1st. CRA and we are wondering how the whole Silent/Oral Auction works....? I didn't see much on the website.....Thanks

Good question Kay.

Kay, the "Silent Auction" will consist of misc. parts and camping related items and will be displayed on a table along with a "bidding Tag". Probably near site #47.

If you want to bid on an item, you write in a "Bid" on the Bidding Tag (i.e. $10 or some amount) as well as your camp site #. Other people can out bid your offer for the item. There could be many items to bid on so you can choose which one(s) you like and try to become the "High Bidder".
At the close of the "Silent Auction" (Saturday afternoon), the top Bid on each item will be accepted and the Winner will be notified at the Pot Luck Dinner announcements..

If the winning bidder should decline to pay for their Bid, then the next highest bid becomes the winner.

The "Oral Auction" will have bigger items that will be auctioned off in a conventional auction format. Your bidding number will be your camp site number on a piece of paper. If you want to bid, the hold up your number. The high Bidder wins the item.

As the gathering date approaches, there could be some changes to the above, but, in general, this is how the auctions will be run.

Proceeds will go to the St. Judes fund.

Are those your "special" vacuuming shoes? ;) :R

See you soon!

Not even my vacuuming feet, got Nancy in on the clean up.

I would have worn my lime green crocks to match the vacuum.
