Mark, The first gathering we had in Illinois about 4 years ago, one guy showed up with his "partially" finished teardrop. He had a tarp for the roof and a cardboard galley mocked up.

He had a great time and so did we. Don't panic, it doesn't have to be totally completed. Weve all been there so don't feel bad if it isn't totally finished.
The spirit and enthusiasm are what counts.
Glad you got the site at Turkey Run. :applause:

Mark glad to hear you'll make it, I may be in the same boat with a not done tear if I don't step it up a little. Just can't find the energy to go out in the cold, cold garage and work on it.

by the way are you still site 232 I see it's booked?

Kurt, Thanks for the encouragement, Its nice to know someone's got your back. I fully anticipate that the tear will not be finished but am hoping that the sleeping cabin and exterior will be pretty close to done. For the galley, i was planning on leaving it a blank space for the first outing so i can focuson the rest of it. The cardboard mockup is a really cool idea for everyone to see what is planned
Scott, yes that is me who booked 232 as soon as i heard it wasn't held any longer i thought quick action was in order.

Kurt, Almost forgot, did you get my pm for the name tag? My oldest daughter Chelsey will be joining me for the weekend. Can you make a nametag for her too? We are planning on a canoe trip and will probably sneak away to Cox Ford Park Just outside of Turkey Run for a few laps on their gocart track.(Looking for driving emoticon)

Hi Mark,

How old is Chelsey?
My camping buddy (daughter) Sarah, is 13...and loves to "drive" <img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/26/26_8_5.gif">
maybe they can race... ;)

Waiting for "someday" will leave you on your deathbed wondering why you didn't just rearrange your priorities and enjoy the time you had, instead of waiting for a "better" time to come along...

Rob,
Chelsey is 7 so she won't be able to drive due to their age restrictions.
I was planning on a 2 seater for us. I see you found that emoticon!
Looking forward to meeting you and everyone else and to checking out your cabin car! Your web site and the build on the sportsman is what sparked the fire for me. although I ended up scaling down in size to meet my budget I would still like to pick up my neighbors mobile sportsman for a future build. The Elcar is being parted out and will donate some vintage parts to the jim dandy. In fact, the frame for the dandy is actually a section of Elcar frame cut down to size!
Oh yea! here's the link to Cox Ford Park.

 I'm trying to figure out how my post with the TV got in here. I was in another thread when I replied to it. :frustrated:

Mark,

Darn... oh well, a few more years and she'll be borowing the family car...
Driving with dad won't be so bad...she could probably reach over and steer just a little...

Thanks for the link!
My wife and I just stumbled on the place last fall, good to have more recreation opportunities.

Glad to hear you found something of interest from my site, I found much inspiration from another builder as well.

See you soon!

Galen, too bad you can't make it. :( to Turkey Run.

My son is getting married June 9th in Pittsburgh and I am planning to go to the Camp ADK gathering in the Adirondaks.

It should be fun and I'll stay 6 full days.
There are still sites open- check it out.

Galen...just tell your daughter "there are priorities" then go camping. She'll understand. Well maybe not :DOH2:

Jim, Galen is an avid teardropper. He runs the Buckeye chapter of "Tearjerker's". He has his priorities, but , like me, no one else seems to agree with them.
The Tearjerker's gatherings in Ohio are fun too. Don't pass them up if you get a chance to go. :P Galen's (DO) fruit cobbler was mighty tasty last year. :beautiful:
