The photos look great thanks, I can't wait :D
Pocket sandwiches sound neat I've never done that. I also have to try out my new Dutch Oven I got at Minden maybe a desert would be a good place to start.

Scott , there are lots of desert recipes for the DO. I've tried a cherry cobbler using yellow cake mix, cherry pie filling and a can of sprite. It was tasty.

I've made biscuits for breakfast in my DO that turn out great. We could do waffles one morning and biscuits and gravey with scrambled eggs(commonly referrd to as "heart attack on a plate") another morning. I'll bring bacon to have with the waffles and sausage to make gravey with. Breakfast is one of my three most favorite meals. 8)

Now yous guys have me wanting to cook which I like to do. This is usually followed up by eating. I think for Saturday night I'll make a pot of ham & beans with corn bread. I say Saturday since it will need more simmer time. What could be better than sitting around an open fire, eating beans, and drinking beer? A truly volitile combination. If it works with your schedule Kurt could we do the Irons Friday night as they don't take as much time? Cindi has to work part of that day and we won't get there as early as I might like.

Speaking of wives. Kurt, will you be bringing your wife? Guys, contrary to rumors that you may have heard, Kurt really is married. I actually met his lovely wife one day. Or was that the neighbor lady?

Doing fire pies on Friday is no problem at all.
BTW, my wife might just be able to come up for the weekend. Maybe Friday AND Saturday- who knows.

I can see a small feast in the making:

Breakfast Saturday: Waffles and sausage/bacon, eggs
Breakfast Sunday: Bisuits and Gravy, scrambled eggs

Hot Coffee and Juice.

Late campfire dinner:
Friday Fire Pie night -
Sour Dough cheese and salami/ham pies, Brats & Dogs in the irons, grilled cheese w/ tomato (yum)
Desert: Smores in the fire irons.

We could even do Grilled or DO pizza.

Saturday campfire dinner: Ham/Bean soup, corn bread, hot dogs, etc.

Wash this all down with your favorite beverage. :applause:

Anything goes for campfire dinners. Scott's desert in the DO sounds really good too.

Heck, I might want to stay all week  :applause:

Seeing as how I've never cooked anything in a dutch oven it might be the best thing to start with and best chance of being edible

Scott, cherry or peach cobblers are a great way to start with the DO.
Almost fool proof. (Almost)

Just don't make any desert recipes with beans. :o

Don't care for cherry so it would have to be peach

and I promise to stay away from the bean deserts :gas:

Question I think my brother and his family will be coming that weekend with there pop-up does anyone have a problem with some honorary teardroppers for the weekend. He's a construction foreman so swaying him to build might be easy 8) and he's big in the scouting so his outdoor cooking might come in handy for us also.

I certainly have no problem with that. We are, after all, just camping enthusiasts that happen to use teardrop trailers.

Campers are gennerally all in the same frame of mind regardless of what's over their heads.

"Blazing Saddles" Don't think that didn't come to mind.

I agree with Kurt. Campers are campers, teardrop or pop-up doesn't matter. I may have another couple join us as well but not sure yet. They were at Turkey Run last spring but had a site away from the teardroppers only because they didn't reserve a site, showed up at the last minute, and were lucky to get a camp site. As Archie Bunker would say they decided to come "on the sperm of the moment".

Hello all, just thought i'd get on here for a min. and see what was going on. I guess alot since the last time i was on, everything sounds great. i can't wait to get there. it'll be here before we know it. the "menu" sounds wonderful, i still have to talk to the wife to find out what were gonna bring but it's sounds like were off to a great start... i might have to stay away from the beans, the Misty's #1 rule during camping is no bean beer and me. we have already crossed the bridge, lets just say that she suggested putting a breathing apparatus on the drop....lol that was some night...i guess because i was asleep...lol but i heard all about it the next morning. i know for sure we'll bring alot for breakfast, that's my favorite meal. we'll have to discuss the other stuff. well it's been a long hot day, i worked my behind off, so it's gonna be a short night on here. thank u to everyone who is "putting" this together. :applause: keep on droppin
