i have been following the thread between bong and cliffside and i think either one would be nice. we wouldn't be able to come though may 19-20 because we will be at turkey run with the gathering of teardrops from the midwest.

Teardrop from IL.
You must have skipped a few pages of this thread. The gathering IS scheduled for 4/27 to 4/29 @ Cliffside in Racine Co. You are more than welcome to come join the fun. See previous posts on this thread for where to make your reservations. Let Claw or Duke know what site you get.

Brwbier: I don't know about changing the thread, my thought is it's a little late for that. It's already set for the potluck....Sat. evening.

BrwBier wrote:A couple of thoughts, first could this thread be changed to "Cooled near the lake, Eastern WI, April 27-29" and be made a sticky? Second, I guess Saturday night should be a pot luck, or is that just understood. Third, do we need some sort of cool logo? and is someone good at that. Forth, is anyone interested in seeing beer being brewed. (It's really easy, it's mostly boiling water) I will bring a sample along to taste.
This seems to have taken on a life of its own, organising this is really easy since I haven't done much at all. My first thoughts were maybe 4 or 5 tear drops, this is way better than I ever expected.
Brwbier

BrwBrier You have done a great job putting this together! You started the thread to get yourself motivated and it appears it has motivated a few to take the ball and run! I hope your TD is roadworthy by the end of April.

A cool Logo would be ...well cool. Lets throw it out there and see if someone has some hidden talent.

I would be interested in how you brew beer. Maybe you could develope a great Tear Drop brew for the occasion.
Any other ideas out there for things to share or do now is the time to bring them up. I hope the Camp Inn folks bring pictures of the progress on their new facility!

Duke ,

If you raised Cooler by the lake up some and put the word "Ale" underneath the words you just raised you could have a cool beer bottle label 8)

Betsey, glad to hear that things are going well in the Necedah Industrial Park

Duke, great design, I like the included lake :applause:

rbeemer, I hope Brwbeir doesn't feel any pressure to develope a gathering specific 'ale' but he would have a great label if he did!

I like the color label. It will make nice name tags so we can tell who's who. Could I get a second version of the color label with the words Pale Ale under cooler near the lake. I agree, it will make a nice label. I already am looking at recipes for a special brew, something simple (extract w/ specialty grains) because I don't want this to take all day. This will be the way most home brewers start, it's the way I started after my son came home from school one weekend and said "dad, we should brew some beer", that was about 15 years ago. The ideal result would be to take the final product to Minden, but I don't know if my wife will flip out over that idea. We'll see.

Ok - this is sounding like too much fun to pass up !!!

Jim - I snagged site #24.

Does everybody usually show up Friday evening and shoot for a Sunday morning departure ?

We will trickle in on Fri. evening, and leave Sunday morning/noon. We'll have a potluck on Sat. evening (bring a dish to pass) The rest of the time will be spent getting to know each other and checking out our trailers. Glad to have you aboard.

It has been snowing here off and on all day! But I have heard by the end of April a great weekend will be provided to start the camping season! You look like you have a pretty cool TD under that tarp  It would be nice to see it at the Cooler Near the Lake Gathering :D
