Thanks for all the poochie pictures:) And for the repost of the campsite!

Our dog is a mix of German shorthair pointer, lab and ????

We found him at the pound about 5 years ago, and they estimated that he was 4 years old. It was his 2nd trip into the pound! He was such a quiet gentleman in a very busy and noisy place. After making several visits to see him, alone, with others, with grandchildren of several ages....we brought him home.

He is absolutely a joy. The babies can crawl all over him, inspect his ears and teeth - and he just smiles:) He wants to be where we are, loves to go in the car, barks very rarely. Weighs about 60#

Would wish such a good companion for everyone

Anne,

We also believe pound and rescue hounds are the best. We're basset hound lovers and have adopted 2 over the years from http://www.bassetrescue.org Be sure to checkout the "Homeless" section. Who can turn down one of those sad faces?

Seal is a rescued puppy too, and what a sweetie she turned out to be.

We look forward to a big doggie reunion....... :applause:

We too have a rescue dog. When we first saw him he was the calm in the middle of a "puppy storm". We asked to see him and he crawled up into my lap and fell fast asleep. We were told that he was a golden retriever mix....a calm dog breed.
My wife held him and he got up, came right over to my lap and once again curled up and fell fast asleep.
We went home and thought about him(for about an hour) we both said at the same time...let's go get him.
We got him, brought him home and he was the quiet joy we desired. The next day we noticed a cough that kept reoccuring, so there was a trip to the vet......Kennel cough.....two weeks later our Dalmation developed the same cough. Apparently kennel cough shots don't work if the dogs are licking each others noses.
As it turned out both dogs got over the kennel cough.
Luke, the adopted wonder dog turned out to be mostly Irish Setter. Once he got over his kennel cough, he never again had any behavior that would be described as "calm". He runs fast, catches squirrels, digs, jumps on everything, but he's our puppy. He's seven years old and we are anxiously anticipating him growing out of his "puppy" stage.....we can hope can't we?

Scott, I think we ended up with 32 for last year's spring gathering at Raccoon Lake. By the time it was over, we might have lost a few in the water. Man did it ever rain.

Let's hope our weather this year is like it "used to be". (before Raccoon lake.)

We could meet or exceed the 32 from last year if things go well.

Only 113 days to go. Well.... I guess we better start thinking about a movie for Saturday night.

We could have a traditional movie or one that has the "Outdoor theme" or a comedy.. etc.

I found my copy of "Caddy Shack" and I have and I can get a copy of "RV" (Robin Williams).

These are two options..Any other ideas??
