This is incredible. We have 20 pre-registered! And to think we still have several people that usually attend and have yet to sign up. I checked out my tear init's storage this past Friday. It was hard to drive away with out it hitched on behind. Only six more weeks of winter.

Must be that darn ground hog seeing his shadow that is causing everyone to dream of camping. Looking forward to seeing you Wanna Be.

085 will kind of feel like you are by yourself in the woods. I think you might have one of the few spots where you might actually see the lake. Definitely a good spot for watching deer.

Spring is just around the corner! Can't wait to get started on some new ideas and projects for the camper---and am so looking forward to the CBTL gathering and the camping season in general! Whoo hoo!

Was wondering----Will there be an official or scheduled time during the gathering weekend, for a "Tour of Teardrops" -----where folks can show their tears or have a "look see" at what others have done or built? Or is it more of a casual, just walk up anytime, say hello and ask for a tour?

Deb,

I hope to arrive mid afternoon on Thursday and if anyone has arrived before me I will be right over to inspect your tear just after I get settled. I will be continuing inspections throughout the weekend with second and third visits occurring to see if I missed any cool ideas. Many pictures will be taken so that I forget no great idea. I suspect that this is the plan of many who are attending. I don't want to fill up the event with to many officially scheduled things which is why I have tried to set up the horse shoe tournament as a you arrange a convenient time event. I thought that we might need time to enjoy the park and the area we are in.

Many of our attendees will be arriving on Friday after a day at work. After getting set up hopefully the park has given Glenn and Cheryl the keys to the shelter so that we can have a meet and greet by a nice warm fire. Saturday we have breakfast and supper in the shelter. We will discuss breakfast start time Friday night and our past pot lucks have usually been a try to be ready and head to the shelter at 5:30. On Saturday a lot of the morning and all of the evening is gone. Sunday will see the majority on the road home by noon. I'm always amazed by how many are packed before I roll out of bed on Sunday. That really only leaves Saturday afternoon free for most and I know some want to go geocaching, shopping, antiquing, hiking or etc.

I believe it was Doug and Steve (LOL co-directors) a number of years ago who started the idea of arriving mid day on Thursday. Gives you a little time to ease into the event and maybe soak up some sun while reading a good book. I liked their idea.

We're going to have close to 50 people at this year's event who we have not seen for half a year or have never met. Gonna be a whole lot of socializing going on.

In the past it was casual. When you see someone you ask unless that will change. I feel if you have a specified time then no one is at their camper.

By the way its Dennis and Cheryl not Glen.

And one Shih Tzu--Sunny Day!!! If my blinds are up and I'm outside, please stop by my campsite. I'm not a coffee drinker, so bring your own (do you really want a non-coffee-drinker making you a cup of coffee???).

I see a heater in the background of the picture. Don't forget to bring it along. It is not called "cooler by the lake" for nothing,

It has it's own little space in the headboard storage--I never go anywhere without it!! This was in mid-November last year at Brown County State Park in Nashville, IN. Outside temps were in the upper 20's to low 30's, with 20+ mph winds. The space heater felt so good! Sunny Day loved sleeping on top of the sleeping bag at my feet.

dwe,

We have 22 officially registered trailers. I know of one more that has indicated they will be coming and we are missing some who are usually there and I would be surprised if they did not attend. Assuming two people per trailer................50ish?

60ish if we are counting pets.

Talked with a friend who lives up in Oshkosh. He says that Lake Winnebago's ice is now about 33 inches thick and that most ice augers are not long enough for the fishermen to be able to drill through it. This is one cold winter. :?
