FYI...saw on the news tonite...the Mayberry in the Midwest Festival is the same weekend as our Turkey Run event, at the Mayberry Cafe which is on the historic square in Danville IN. According to Mapquest it is about an hour East of Rockville, which is just so. of Turkey Run. Maybe a Sat excursion or, in our case right on the way home, on St Rd 36 in Danville. May have to drop by. They have a replica of Andy's black and white Ford police car out in front. Mayberrycafe.com or look them up on Facebook.

That looks like it could be a fun trip back in time.

Been wanting to drop in on a gathering. Should have gone to Potatoe Creek as I live close by. I am still in the process of convincing the wife that a teardrop is the way to go. If we make it we will be in a tent.

Hoosier Chapter Spring 2014 Gathering

We were at potato creek lays year :). Nice park, although there is an acute shortage of trees.

Convince near to come down here...you won't regret it. The Hoosier chapter is active, and a heck of a lot of fun to hang out with.

Pete, come on down to our gathering. If you can come on Friday, please enjoy our "Meet and Greet" Friday evening. We will be serving finger foods and beverages and it's fantastictime to meet some great people who have similar interests to you.

If Friday doesn't work then Saturday evening is our fabulous "Pitch in dinner".

There is always more food than we can eat so we can use your help. Please feel welcomed in advance. We always enjoy meeting new (potential) Teardroppers and small trailer (or camping) enthusiasts.

The Tent is a good place to start but the teardrop will be a great upgrade.

Stay tuned on the Forum for any updates.

The thing about gatherings, it's an excuse for people to get together....not trailers. You'll have a great time looking at other peoples takes, and a few commercial trailers like ours. The food is good, the conversations are better. Really....these are a LOT of fun!

I know it's a little early but I couldn't stand not being outside today. 8) A nice sunny day..temperature is actually near normal. Car is all packed for Turkey Run (except for food and drinks), is washed and ready to go. Only problem is that there's no place to go right now.

Oh well....I'll be ready when for May when it gets here..

So you'll drive around packed until then ?

You could head down to Mounds on the 5th of April I heard there'll be some other campers there.

I brought my camper home from storage today time to get busy and get the inside all finished before May, I'll canvas just after the may gathering.

Hoosier Chapter Spring 2014 Gathering

Postby GerryS » Sun Mar 16, 2014 5:21 am

If I go, and I'm planning on it assuming the usual conditions, I'll probably get there Friday......maybe even Friday earlier in the day to set up. Make a 3 day of it.

man o' man, I need a good weekend! I've got a new boss, I have no idea how she handles short notice 3 day weekends. I won't commit to taking a day off until I'm reasonably assured of good weather. Vacation days are far too valuable to sit inside on a cold rainy day. In June, that's less of a gamble. In late winter and spring...I don't trust any forecast.

NOTE: Wrong thread....for some reason, I had shiveree on my mind when I said this, I'll be at the spring! The bet is far more sure then than it is in the first week of April! Oops!

Is it possible for you to put in for a vacation day a day then cancel it last minute if the weather is bad? I have done that before. Sort of reverse the situation. My boss hates last minute vacation days but has no problem if I cancel the vac day.
