TEARS BY THE RIVER #3… due to not being able to take reservations for Thomson Causeway because of construction, we are moving the event to a new location this year…

Location: Nelson Dewey State Park, Wisconsin
This overlooks the Mississippi River near Cassville, Wisconsin.
http://www.cassville.org/nelsondewey.html

The group campsite includes an open shelter house, outdoor toilets, and electric hook ups. Shower house is nearby in the campground.

When: September 10-12, 2010

Again, this will be in their group campsite. We have reserved the site for both nights already. If you are planning on attending you need to let us know as we are limited to 30 people. If there is more than this amount wanting to attend, we can always reserve another site next to us. The price is $9.00 per person (this includes both nights of camping). Ex: one person $9.00, two people $18.00, three people $27.00, etc…

If attending, please send a non-refundable check to:

Im in for the outing. I'll get my money sent off this weekend. For anyone that may not know this park you will not be disappointed. My brother came in from Washington this past June and wanted to go on a short Teardrop trip. We left out of Galena IL. so we went up through Potosi WI. and stopped at the Potosi Brewery. Great Beer and food by the way. Then went exploring. We stayed at the Nelson Dewey State Park. It's a beautiful park. Looking forward to seeing you all.

Barring any unforeseen economic disaster(s) we :worship:(hope) to make it.
It'll be our first. Not fully sure what to expect, but being a long time camper, should still be enjoyable.
We have no teardrop (yet), but I'm considering a build.
This regatta will allow us to see in person what they're about.

Oddly, in my travels, I've not seen too many tears on the road and/or in campgrounds.
Are they that small, hiding under a leaf or behind a branch?
:o I thought I saw one. It was so well polished, it reflected it's surroundings.
Not quite sure.

Funny thing Steve, we were just there camping this weekend with Betsey & Craig and Barb & Parnell. Your name came up in conversation asking if you would be attending.

Then we get this email that you are :applause:

Looking forward to seeing you there.

F&D...

Glad you will be attending :applause:

Just a word of warning, when pulling into the campground be careful not to step on any twigs or too many leaves as the tearsdrops may be underneath, so tread lightly....

If you are there on Friday night we usually have informal wine/beer/pop (drink of choice) and appetizers of choice. in the evening. On Saturday night we have a potluck. There is no list of what to bring but is always surprising that there is a great variety of food.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone. It's a great park and should be a good time. I am building a second Teardrop right now. Was hoping to get it finished for this outing but I don't think it will make it. So I'll be in my Woodybago.
