TEARS BY THE RIVER 5

It's that time again....We will be hosting TBTR5 on September 6-9th @ Thomson Causeway in Thomson, Ilinois.

Thomson Causeway is run by the Core of Engineer on the Mississippi River. This campground fills up fast. The cost is still only $16 per night.

To see more about this park and/or reserve just go to: http://www.recreation.gov/ and type Thomson Causeway in the park or facility name.

We are in site #87 River Loop.

Yay! Glad you guys can make it!

It was great to see you at CNTL, too!

For anyone who is interested & able, we still have sites available for our St. Croix Tearjerkers 15th Birthday Bash, June 22-23 at White Mound County Park in Hillpoint, WI. Here's the link: http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=49970

Well I've kept you in suspense long enough. We have slot 91. We had planned on having our teardrop finished for this but life interrupted the build with a $100 Pop up that is campable. It was to good a deal to pass up. We'll see you all in Sept.

Hello there from Eastern Iowa! My husband (Chuck) and I (Theresa) have been lurking off and on the TNTTT website for about two years. I will of course go introduce ourselves on the newbie thread, but had to come here and say HI.

My husband has been building us a teardrop of his own design, one loosely based on the Mike Schneider's generic Benroy plans. It is almost done - hopefully will be going to get skinned in aluminum next week. We had hoped for it to be done in time to camp in it this coming Labor Day, but we don't know if it will be ready by then - depends on the how busy the body shop is.

We see that you all from the Land of Lincoln chapter of TJ are going to be camping at Thomson Causeway in September. We may also be camping there that weekend - in our tent if the teardrop isn't done - and thought maybe we'd come over and say HI to all of you and introduce ourselves. Maybe we'll see you there! We are so looking forward to seeing your trailers "in person" - we have seen so many pictures on this website, but have not seen very many in real life.

Looking forward to meeting you! :D

Hi Theresa,

It is still fun, even in a tent.
Over the years, many have brought unfinished trailers, and have been very happy they did.
You are just as welcome, finished or not.
Finding people to give you tours of their trailers shouldn't be too hard... ;)

Thanks, Rob! For the welcome and the idea of bringing the trailer, even if unfinished. We honestly hadn't even thought of that! Now hubby is outside figuring what at minimum he needs to do to it so we could camp in it that weekend. Will likely need to put a tarp over it to protect it, but it sure would be fun seeing everyone's trailer and I know Chuck would appreciate the chance to talk to others who are just as interested in Tears as he is! We are going to try to make it happen - either skinned or not!

By the way, we took a few minutes to check out your website - lots of cool pics and plenty of adventures! I hope to create a web page for Chucks' Teardrop journey this winter once things calm down and I have a bit more time on my hands.....

Again,thanks for the welcome!

Theresa
