Hoosier Chapter Spring (2013) gathering

As we discussed at our Fall gathering, the possibility of camping near Terre Haute, IN in the Spring has come to a decision (almost).

Dan Sutton and I took a "road trip" to Fowler Park in Vigo Co. (Terre Haute) to check it out.

Although I didn't take any pictures, the setting will amaze you. The lake front sites, the huge shelter and the nice shower rooms make this a prime location for our Teardrop and TTT gathering in the Spring of 2013.

In the next few weeks Dan will be working out the camping arrangements and reservation details. There are 56 electric sites and several non electric sites to accommodate us.

After the details are finalized, an announcement will be mad for the gathering dates, etc.

Rob, you'll like this one for a couple of reasons including the location. This should be a good gathering and a very scenic at that.

I love the (lake side) sites. It reminds me of the campouts in the Adirondacks except the mountains aren't as tall near Terre Haute.

Verna, ever try "fly fishing"?
It's really fun. I don't catch any more fish but it's fun to cast the fly and hope for the best.

No, but I've wanted to. Maybe my nephew will give me some lessons before I go there. I'll probably bring my kayak, too.

BRING YOUR CAMERAS!!!
Our son went to the U of Evansville, and on the way home I would always stop at Fowler Park... lake, log cabins, covered
bridge, small grist mill.

We might have to put "Fresh Fish" on the pitch in menu. That would be a good thing. If fact, we might have a "fishing contest" at the gathering.

Verna, If we catch enough to eat, I'll fillet them and we can bread and deep fry them. Combine that with an "old Milwuakee beer" and the Swedish bikini team and there is Nothing better.(for me)

Remind me to get a fillet knife and some Old Milwaukee before the gathering.
:applause:
