The Land of Lincoln Chapter invites one and all to join us at Clinton Lakes State Recreation Area Near Dewitt Illinois. Aug 8 - 11 Some will arrive on Thursday. If you are not able to make Thursday, come for Friday and Saturday. All are welcome no matter what your means of camping is. Tent, trailer or a hammock strung between two trees, we want you!!!

Doug and I were approached by Jim Patterson from Alton and asked about hosting a gathering. So please help Jim make this a successful gathering. One of the best parts of Tear Jerkers are the members that want to get involved. If you have questions feel free to contact any of us.

Just want to give this gathering a bump. I know that the weather has not made us start thinking of late summer gatherings , but someday it will warm up and the sun will come out. Before it's to late, get signed up. It will be a good time.

Friday night.... Meet and greet...

Doug will bring a Hotdog machine and supply the fixins for dogs. Others can bring appetizers or whatever they want to munch on.

Will arrive late Friday Some of us gotta work still and after the 2 missed days for the CRA I just couldn't ask the boss for any more time off. I will try and sneak out a bit early on Friday so we arn't setting up in the dark.

Do you do a late night movie or anything like that? If so I can bring a copy of the CRA dutch oven seminar on DVD for those who missed it and might be interested.

Thinking about a big ol' monster meatloaf for the pitch in!

We have not ever done a late night movie. Doesn't mean we can't, if you have a way to put one on. The grub looks good!

I do have a full batch of my SIL's Apple Pie coming with. We may not need a projector!

I know we are certainly excited! I have to work too. But boss says I can come in early and leave early. Our goal is to not set up in the dark!

At gatherings there is always plenty of food to go around. And simple is good because your camping and relaxing see I am still learning that process yet when I go all out or my last min ideas : ) I know Steve always likes my last min ideas and when it comes to potlucks it is easier to not plan and just be creative : ) I think we are the only two in the bunch that haven't tried dutch oven cooking yet.

Have a great time everyone and I am going to miss a great time but my scheduling does not allow me to come this time. But make sure you all save some Apple Pie for Tears by the River I will be there with my glass and maybe this time when I say I will be right back I will be right back. But this time I won't drink so much of the apple pie so I don't get lost for 2 hours or more.
