Reserve a site in MERGANSER CIRCLE, Sites 92-85 & 70-64. These sites are across the road from
each other, with 70 & 92 being furthest from the Shower House. The sites are $25.00 a night.

There is a Camp Store on site, a snack shop/restaurant, and a boat launch for the 318 acre fishing lake.
There is NO swimming or wading, allowed. Also, alcohol is prohibited in the park.

The town is about 1/2 mi. from the park, there is a small grocery store, hardware store, ice cream
shop, pub, & pizza place. There is a BBQ Place in Waterman, Il. (about 5.5 mi.) "Fay's Pork Chop
BBQ" we could try on Thursday, for "no cook Thursday". There is also "Pokanoka's Restaurant, in
the park.

Has anyone besides me been watching the weather?
Specifically the wind?
Rain here and there I can take, but the wind is supposed to be 15mph on Thursday and 19 mph on Sunday.
How much wind is too much wind when pulling a small trailer???

I don't know what you are pulling or where you are coming from. But we do have people coming from all over to this gathering. Most are pulling teardrops, a few have cargos. We have never had much trouble driving in 20MPH winds. Cross winds you will notice but you just need to keep a hand on the wheel. Lots of wind plays havoc with our shelters sometimes but we can deal with that.

Steve, It's me Linda with the Coyote camper. I met you last fall. My camper is a 16ft with stabilizer bars and an anti sway bar. I've never driven in the wind and I never drive the tollroads.
I am coming from Crystal Lake, you are in Bartlett, if I remember correctly.
From here to there there is a lot of flat open road!
You think I'll be ok?

Hi Linda, I remember you, I just did not recognize your username. The Avitar is up now. I'm sure you will be fine. Doug pulls his cargo trailer with no stabilizer and has no trouble. If you are on the side roads you should be fine. Just take it easy till you get comfortable. See ya soon!

I just heard from Vic. He is not coming. He hurt his eye and his ears are bothering him so he is staying home.
Boo Hoo. I was hoping for some muskies from him as he was supposed to come today and he is such a great fisherman!

Hi Linda,
My husband and I are coming from Woodstock pulling our homebuilt teardrop. We camped there 2 weeks ago for a trial run. It was windy when we drove out and we had no problems. We stayed on the paved back roads and encountered very little traffic. Check mapquest or google maps for some suggested routes. I think you can filter your search to miss heavier traveled roads.
