Hello. I am looking for suggestions for campgrounds for a long weekend trip in the fall out of Roanoke VA. It's going to be the first trip out for the tear for me and the wife. I used the camp as a kid but the wife is pretty new but a good sport. I am looking for something pretty but not a massive challenge to get to. I like wooded parks and am ok with private or public parks. I have looked at places in the Jefferson national forest and also considered Fairy Stone state park and campgrounds on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Electric sites would probably be a good idea for the first trip out. I am thinking a couple/three hour trip might be a reasonable travel time. Thoughts? Places I should look up?
Thanks in advance folks.
