It's only about 2,030 miles for us, but what the heck.......

We just booked site # 238... put us on the map!

We've never been up in that part of the country before and we are looking forward to it. Looks like we will both be retired around the first of the year and we plan to travel, travel and travel.

We're in and booked on site 246 - the same one we had last year.

We are back home and have 100 nights in the Tear since retirement and 111 for the year including spring break. Sure beats working or living at home! And we are still speaking to each other.

Looking forward to seeing everyone - old and new.

Bill, maybe for a few bucks I would be night watchman for your gold plated canoe - or at least tell you where the submerged rocks are in Fish Creek. :)

Tom and Brenda

Your woody sure would look great parked on the shore at Fish Creek Ponds. The water sites don't cost extra like at Alum Creek!

Alan & Leslie,

Actually I may take you up on it. In our area there have been paddling get togethers, and camps, that high end boats have been stolen at night while along the water, not far from the campsites. A couple of my paddling buddies have had theirs stolen, both were carbon fiber touring canoes. My new one is too. Most likely I will strap it to the car roof each night. The bump alarm of the car should protect it. After all it only weighs 25lbs. I plan on paddling most of the upper Saranac next year, not much problem for rocks there.

Bill... no worry. I'm installing an alarm system on my dock and I'll have a 'secure' slip awaiting your gold platted canoe.

Now if someone tries to steal my dock... well.. you're just out of luck.

This canoe sounds like a fantastic prize for the TearUp though! Good going!

Oops! It's only 1,030 mile... Sorry for the typo!

Dave, we will be there 13-16 June and will be in a 5x8 BenRoy Teardrop named DragonFly along with 2 kayaks named Charlie and Angie.

Just made a 6 day reservation for the 2008 Camp ADK Spring Tear Up.

Site #244 - I'll bring my new (old wagner) cast iron waffle iron and be can practice waffles with Steve and Darla.

I'm not 100% sure that Jeanine will be coming but I'll keep you up to date about that.
Can't wait and it's only October 2007 :?
We enjoyed it so much last year that it is on the schedule in permanent marker for the future. :applause:  :lol:Image

Hey Kurt,

Do I have the perfect paddling/fishing boat for you. I am buying a Placid BoatWorks RapidFire canoe in carbon fiber. Ultra fast, ultra stable, ultra light. However it cost ,well lets just say I sold my soul to get one ,along with some other toys I had. Probaby the last canoe I will ever buy.

It would be perfect for what you want to use it for. Fast to get you to your favorite fishin spot before others. Stable enought to take a nap while waiting for the fish to bite. Light enough, not to hurt your back transporting it. I think it may be out of your price range though.

Hey Dave,

An alarm on your dock? Plan on building a boat house on it too? Your a local expert, are there any points of interest on Upper Saranac Lake? I am going to take a day & paddle most of the lake,just wondering. I just may sleep in the canoe for security purposes{just kidding}

A/C, Price is a matter of priority and creative justification, but that price is more than my first car cost. :? It's more than my TD cost.
It's really nice and more power to ya' if that's what you want.

I'm still on the trail of a reasonably priced Kayak and one of these days all the stars will align and I'll get it.
:applause:

Dumb Question do these sites have Electric hook-ups?
