I do, but I am 15 sites away. You should turn your stereo up as loud as you can so it can be heard in the 230s.

I can but the 500 watt amp only lasts about 6 hours with my bank of eight RV batteries. And the tear is a 6 wide but 4 of those are speakers out of one side so it's pretty directional. Depends on the direction I'm facing if you get the full effect. If you were in the site next to ours you'd get a steady 15 mph breeze from the music. My contribution to your 'living at the lake' effect.

Hmm..... I just realized. What if someone thought I was actually serious here. I've seen (and have) some installations that are just as odd as the type I described. Oh well, so for clarification. I don't have a huge teardrop stereo system.
But... you should see my rooftop bazooka! ;)

Someone may have heard my car at the Fall Teardown? I'll try to keep it quiet at FCP.

Don't forget the 15mph speed limit too. No TearUping the road around the ponds. Don't want to have to bail out 'neighbours' out of jail again

re: Wine & Cheese and Beer tasting

Forgive my denseness, but what should we bring to these events? The wine & cheese seems pretty self-evident, I assume that we bring a bottle of our favourite wine and a complementary cheese to go with it.

For the beer-tasting thingee chez Theresa, are we sampling whole bottles or small glassfulls (if that's a word and I know it's not) of beer. It will have an impact on what beer I bring. My neighbourhood convenience store has a micro-brew section and there are some nifty looking beers, some in unusual containers.

Life is Tough

Postby campadk » Fri May 21, 2010 4:32 pm

Here I am.. on the porch.. drinking wine... watching my neighbour across the street heading out to Fish Creek on a perfect weather, and long weekend (for us Canucks)... and we are staying home

Alas we are headed there to tidy up the sites this Wednesday, before the tearup campers get there.

Ok... time for another glass of wine lol.

Jenn (and any others interested in joining in) - Here's the deal for Friday Night Pints -
All Tear Up participants are welcome at site #253 on friday evening for a very informal beer tasting/enjoying evening. Bring your own favorite home brew, local micro brew, or just plain old favorite brew for folks to sample (plus any extra you may want to have for your self). I will have small cups available for folks to use for sampling the various brews. Snacks are welcomed if folks want to have a bite to eat throughout the evening. Keep it simple. Musical instruments are also welcomed for fireside entertainment ( If you can play one that would be even better!).
The main idea here is to just have a relaxing, outdoor, fireside pub night while taking the opportunity to try out some different beers. There are some great brewers out there.
I hope you can join us.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to attend this year's ADK event. Last year was our first time attending and our arrival was delayed due to the passing of my Nephew Jeremy. At that time we thought our attendance would help relieve the stress of the whole situation. Although we made some great memories at ADK, it turned out to be a bitter-sweet weekend for obvious reasons. On Thursday, May 27th, my brother Leonard passed away due to a long term illness. He was only 57. We've decided that our vacation time would be better spent with family. So when you're having a cold pint or glass of wine, take an extra sip for us. We hope to see everyone sometime in the near future.

RESERVATION NOTE: We reserved site #226 from June 10-13 (it's prime ADK real estate). I'll be calling Reserve America today at Noon to cancel our reservation. I realize this is short notice, however, we're getting close to losing our deposit. I'll check my PM before I call. If anyone is interested in the site, please PM me with a number that you can be reached at Noon. I'll do what I can to make certain this site goes to someone who wants to participate. Obviously, this will be on a first contact basis.
