Unfortunately, my nephew Jeremy passed away yesterday after a very long battle with Cancer (he was only 18 years young). At this point in time, I know we will not be making ADK on Thurs night as originally planned. I hope everyone has a safe trip.

Thanks everyone, we really appreciate it. I'm so thankful that Jeremy doesn't have to suffer anymore. We're still leaning towards making the trip and at this point we plan to arrive very late Friday night/Saturday morning.

Getting short on time trying to get ready here, so unfortunately I didn't get to update my newsletter email list and
email the TearUp Campers Guide.

Please check in with either Kate or myself when you arrive to pickup your Campers Guide (as well as your t-shirts).

Don't forget to bring along a 'gift' for the Steal a Gift game on Saturday night! See http://tearuptheadk.com/notice.html if you still aren't aware of Saturday nights activities.

Back to packing! We leave bright and early tomorrow.

See everyone there!

PS. Fri/Sat/Sun are looking fantastic weather wise!

Cheers

Attention Canucks! Remember Cornwall Border is Closed

Postby campadk » Tue Jun 09, 2009 8:03 pm

For those Canucks such as us, who had planned to cross the border at Cornwall, you need to change your plans! The indian reservation is in disputes with border patrol over guns. The cornwall / massena border has been closed for over a week and it looks like it will continue to be closed for a while. Best to cross at Ogdensburg instead... maybe its just us and Norm / Jeanne that are affected. The T.O. bunch are more likely to cross at Ogdensburg I'm assuming.

Cheers

Pre-Registration!

Postby campadk » Tue Jun 09, 2009 8:08 pm

Oh yeah.. one more thing... Fish Creek has implemented the new 'pre-registration' feature that state/dec parks are using this year.

If you go online at reserveamerica.com, and signon you should be able to access your pre-registration form. Fill out the details, print it and bring it along. It will speed up the process when you arrive at the gate at Fish Creek.

Cheers

We are now headed out of Lexington KY and will arrive at FCP on Thursday afternoon, after spending the night at Niagara Falls. We sure are looking forward to spending a great weekend with y'all!
