I've been looking at all the wonderful Teardrops and Tiny Travel Trailers souvenir ideas. Is there is anyone with design talent who could make a Camp ADK flag? If someone could produce a high quality image we could all download it and print it to iron-on paper and create a flag.

Any interest??

Hey Dave,

campadk wrote:We could wait and see if everyone is arriving Thursday (so far this is the case) versus Friday and pick a day. Maybe a poll is in order. Either is fine by us.

I won't be up until Friday afternoon.

Flag idea. This is what happens when computer paint tools are given to the non-artistic. Feel free to come up with other designs.

Gail,

A flag would be great! Hadn't thought of that one.

Kate is laughing at us... shes concentrating on Christmas and we are talking about arrive times and food co-ordination for next summer!

I've been thinking we need a logo for the Spring TearUp as well.. perhaps as a T-shirt even. Might leave out the 'Camp ADK' since that is really oun signature. The Spring TearUp is a group event and not so tighed to 'Camp ADK'.

I have an illustrator that is doing some stuff for us for our own logo, but I hope to get some items from him to us for other teardrop stuff. ie some teardrop illustrations.

Here is one of the ideas I had come up with (fisherman is too 'cartoony though' and would be replaced). I'm sure Kate and I will come up with some other options too.

Image

Maybe the tear should be a Camp-Inn since the Camp-Inns will outnumber the rest of us!

Would anybody be interested in a T-shirt for this event?

T-Shirts,You Bet!

Postby anonymous2 » Sat Nov 20, 2004 7:20 pm

Hi Dave & Kate,

I love the illustration, but since I am not sure about how many fisherman there are,and most of us are canoeist/kayakers,put a few boats in there too. As for the T shirts ,we get T shirts from everywhere we go,so sure, we want a couple. Tell Kate that the kayakers I paddle with are now planning their spring getaways too. It gives us something to talk about in the cold of winter. Hey stores put out Christmas stuff in early November, why can't we think about spring? We are really looking forward to this trip, and meeting our nestmates in person. Only 7 months to go!

Bill/Joan,

Yup true the fisherman doesn't quite fit in... I don't think any of us fish! Subconsciencely I must have been thinking 'fish creek' and yes Kayaks will definately rule this one.. no worry they is apparently 207 days to complete this task!

Getting better!

Postby anonymous2 » Sun Nov 21, 2004 9:31 am

Hi Dave & Kate,

I like the second one better. Is the water at Fish Creek really that clear?{just kidding}. Why not put a few more tears in the picture{smaller & in the woods} of Hunter's , CI's, Home builts, that way everyone is covered. The kayak near the lake is great, and so is everything else. Sorry I don't have any imaging software, and am no good at that stuff. An Idea, at our one kayaking get togethers we made a flag. Simple design of the web page logo that got us all there, with the text of the event location, and date. Everyone signed it and was given as a prize{in our case a 14 year old boy paddling 14 miles with expert adults}.We could do the same the same for the best theme tear, longest distance traveled to get there, oldest, best design, etc. The pot luck dinner is a staple at our kayaking events, and gives everyone to know each other. Our kayaking events have grown from a small hand full of people to 42 at last event. Here is a link to my Webshots page, and some of those kayaking events.
http://community.webshots.com/user/billinpa These events are growing, and are lots of fun with people of common interest. We hope this may be an annual event too. Anything you may need from us don't be afraid to ask{except computer design}. Thanks, Mike for this great web,and site, and helping us tear owners to get together. Thanks to Dave & Kate for getting this together. BTW, kayaking/canoeing teardroppers are welcome at any of the events on my webshots page. Send me an e-mail,IM,or post for the dates. We are leaving for SC. on Tuesday ,and won't be back untill next Tuesday. Everyone have a GREAT THANKSGIVING !

More Changes. Camp TearUp has changed to Adirondack Tearup. Also added a few canoes, kayaks and the date.

I couldn't leave the paint program alone.

I like the photo montage for the Fish Creek Tear-Up with the kayak. Who is that paddling?

Gail, I REALLY LIKE the latest version of your flag/tee shirt. I think that a nice graphic looks better on a tee than a photo. Just my $.02, U.S.

Thanks Steve,
I think I have been getting attached to it !! The only problem I have with it is that the teardrops don't have real wheels. I think that at least the one in the front needs wheels!

Cheers,

Gail, I think that the appeal for me, is the look. Your design reminds me of a Native American painting, like you would see on a longhouse wall. I'd buy a teeshirt just as it is!

Hey! I DO!! Don't know that I will, but I do...

And lo and behold, I can bring Sarah after all - I was thinking Hickory Run (the TearJerker's gathering the following weekend) was in NJ but it's in PA and they DO allow dogs!
