Lenny & Joanne, Howdy neighbors. I'll guard your site and scare all the fish over your way.
I don't even know why I buy a license; I never seem to catch much. Oh well, it's fun just enjoying the chance to be with nature for a while.

I'm really looking forward to the campout.

BTW, if you happen to see a "Moon" (moon eyes) decal at Good Guys, bring one to FCP. I'll buy it from you and put it on the teardrop.

Crossing the border

Postby Kurt (Indiana) » Mon Feb 05, 2007 9:10 pm

Dave (or anyone else), Have you had any trouble crossing the U.S. / Canadian border since January 2007.
I visited Canada near Buffalo, NY (on business) and was told that I would need proof of citizenship (Official Birth Certificate and photo ID) to re-enter the U.S.
This was no problem for me to produce, but it was a serious issue with the border crossing guard.

I'm glad I was prepared. My "American Express" card was not acceptable.
As time goes on, the restrictions could become more strict for entering the U.S.
Has any of this become an issue for you. Do you foresee and problems by June.

Just thinking ahead.

A couple years ago, we went to Mexico. The usual thing to do is take a bus to the border, then the bus will park and you walk across the bridge. It's much faster because there is HUGE line of cars waiting to cross.

When we re-entered, I showed them my DL (which was acceptable at the time) the guy started to question me (I guess I looked Mexican). Anyway, My wife was already across so I had to yell over to her for help. The week prior, we went to Paris (France not Texas) so we still had our passports. As soon as he saw the passport, he let me go without any more questions.

Bring a passport (if you have one) and it will make life a lot easier.

I thought that I heard you would need a passport to get back into the US now. Not sure that is in effect yet, but it is going to be soon, if not already. Anybody know for sure??

Since Jan 23 anyone flying in or out needs a passport (as I understand it). So far the drivers crossing the border only need proof of citizenship and photo ID. :applause:

Haven' been across since December... but not expecting any difference really. We have always brought passports with us for years. We go across at least 15 times a year with no problems.... especially when we mention we are heading to Fish Creek Pond :D (we also go to our place in Lake Placid a lot).

Coming from Texas and Indiana... you guys should be fine

Glad you 3 can make it again this year Mary!

Great that you were able to see April and Marc too!

Thanks for that link. We have their CD but it only has one of the songs that is on the dancingontheair.com website, so great to hear some of their other music.

Thanks for the update on the dates, I've added you guys to the camping list.

Cheers!

Hi Dave and Kate,
Well we will be bringing the new owner of the Bellatear, we sold it to our friend and Laurs sitter, Becky. She will be bringing her daughter Maria with her and Ocho the wonder dog, he weighs all of 3 3/4 lb, so she will need a bear warning. Anyway Becky Saenz from Broadalbin NY is now in site #250, can't wait for dry weather!

Thanks for the update Mary. Ive added Becky and Maria!

Glad you can make it too Ken! Looks like we have 4 new couples so far this year! We'll break you all in with morning waffles over at Steve and Phyllis 8) and a few silly games.

Don't worry about site 237 Pat. I'm showing that I have photos for that site.. but missed loading them into the campsite guide. Regardless... all the sites in that area are pretty nice... and usually booked solid throughout July-August.

I've added a few sites on the other end now (251 and 252) which I am showing as still available as well.

By the following weekend all these sites start to get booked up for the summer so we just manage to squeak in before the hurd!

By the way, for those early campers, Fish Creek opens in a mere 59 days now! Time to get your campers polished!

Cheers
