Watch them ski jumping at the Olympic Jump site (landing on grass not snow)

Hike Mt Marcy, the highest peak in the Adirondacks, or close to 100 other hikes in the mountains.

Do the waterfall hike at the Ausable Club.

Visit Whiteface Mountain and take the gondola up to the summit.

Canoe/Kayak right from your site (several routes to choose from)

etc

Thanks for the ideas :applause: I know that you've spent a lot of time there. Nancy and I want to maximize our time spent there while still enjoying the food, the company, the trailers, AND hopefully some well deserved R&R.

As for Beer? It will be the perfect weekend, rain or shine, as long as we have GUINNESS in the cooler :R BTW, l've already learned a few hard lessons while celebrating with Canadians. I think you know what I'm talking about :tipsy:

Hi all:
I've booked into #220. This will be my first outing with the 'drop, so please be kind with your critiques. :o Please let me know what is expected as far as the participation goes, so I will not look too foolish out there.
Sandy
P.S. To Dave and Kate...two years ago I stumbled across your webpage and was hooked into this crazy business. It's been lots of fun building the trailer and I wanted to say thanks for the inspiration.

Your teardrop (if it's the one in the album) looks to be very well done. There are no guarantees, but I'll bet a kayak ride that you will really love the campout. My wife (who was a "3 day camper") loves to go to the Tearup at Fish Creek Pond. I'm always anxious to see more teardrops because there is so much information and great ideas that come fom each new one.
Glad you are making the trip. Looking forward to the spring of 2009.

Whitby Guy: The teardrop looks good, but what's the car in the garage that can be seen in one photo in your album. We'll have to get together and talk old cars, I've got a few stashed in my barn, and just got done working on a movie set with my 62 Fairlane. See you at Fish Creek. Bob

Jawbone: really wanted to join you guys at Presquille a few weeks ago, but took your advice about not rushing the final details...all the leftover things (trim, cabinets, etc) seem to take forever. Now looks like I'll have several months to complete the build.

Bob: The car in the garage is a '51 MGTD. I've had it for 6 years and try to get out with it as much as the wife will let me. The tow vehicle for the tear will eventually be my '68 MGCGT (it's the 6 cylinder hardtop version of the classic MG car), when it ever gets painted.

Now I'm really looking forward to springtime.

You're about to meet some of the nicest people in the world. Like you, Nancy and I didn't know what to expect at our first gathering. We pulled into our site and were immediately welcomed with open arms.

Oh, I almost forgot. Since you're from Canada and it's your first outing in the U.S. You must bring a Cuban Cigar for the guy on site 222 :D

Whitby Guy: Last years Tearup was the first trip out with our teardrop after the restoration. We really had to rush to get it ready to go, but had reserved a site and didn't want to cancel. Glad we made it because we had a great time. We camped with it several times during the summer and took it to a couple car shows. It's amazing the attention it gets, can't even stop for gas without people looking and asking questions. It's back in my shop for the winter for some finishing details. Ours has no cabinets, the plan is to keep it simple and light weight. See you all in June. Bob & Mary

Old Cars?? I'm not an Ontariarian but I like "Old Cars" too. Tell 'em Jawbone! My main car (for normal gatherings when I go by myself) is a 1965 Mustang Coupe. I love the '60's cars no matter what kind.
I've towed the teardrop as far as Minden Nebraska (2005) and it did just fine. If you don't count the lack of A/C, Cruise and seat adjustments, it was a great trip. The old Mustang just seems to fit me and is not that uncomfortable to drive for a long distance.

Jawbone has seen the teardrop and the Mustang together on his (2007) trip to the "Bean Blossum" blues fest.

The "Old Cars" become sort of an "Icon" when it is used to pull the teardrop.

When I come to FCP, it will be with the new "Escape" for the convenience and comfort. I don't want my wife to get a bad taste of teardropping by using the crude old car for transportation.
I sure don't want to push my luck too far. :o

BTW, I did own a '76 MGB for about ten years and loved it. The British cars are in a class by themselves and are a thrill to drive.

Looking forward to meeting all of the "Ontariarians". :applause:
