Just checked the weather forecast for Pinedale. If they are right we can expect high day temps around 80°with nights down around 40°. They mentioned a slight chance of thundershowers on Saturday. So looks like a good weekend.

Yes, Randy you indeed could have dug a big hole for yourself! Lucky for you I didn't mention it to Carol. Have a great gathering and say "hi" to everyone for us.

We should be there mid-afternoon on Thursday. Might have to stop at the microbrewery in Pinedale and fill a couple growlers on the way up.

For Saturday we are going to attempt pork green chile stew in the dutch oven, and Sunday morning, Aebleskiver (Danish pancakes) which are amazing.

Apparently the campground lacks a potable water source so you will only have what you haul in with you to cook, clean, wash, extinguish campfires, play on slip-n-slides, engage in water balloon fights, etc. so plan accordingly.

See you all tomorrow afternoon! :D

We'll be coming up from Layton, UT. It looks like we can go either 89/189 from Evanston or take 191 from Rock Springs. I've never been on either one so wondering if anyone has any comments on those roads. Thanks.

They should both be good roads and paved all the way. The only thing you might watch for is road construction. :D

Good point Slow. Thanks for the reminder. I forgot about the altitude difference. Highest and coldest we've camped at was Butterfly Lake, UT at 10,300 ft and 37° temperature. The trailer did good and stayed around 60° once we closed the windows. We always take extra blankets for those unexpected cold nights. This will be a good test of our trailer insulation so we know if we need to buy a heater.

I just got home. A real nice gathering and as usual I did not loss any weight.

Nancy, Grant/Kay. If you see this there are fires just west of Hailey, Ketchum/sunvally and headed east. There are already 2000+ home evacuated and they are talking about maybe 10,000 soon. Thought you might like to know.

We just got home. I have to say "Walk the Winds" was perfect for our first gathering. We got to meet some really awesome people. Everyone was super friendly and more than willing to share experiences, ideas and food. :R A special thanks to Slow for setting the gathering up. Looking forward to doing it again next year.

Mike,

Cynthia and I aren't much for big crowds so the smaller size of Walk the Winds was perfect for our first gathering. Everyone there was just great. We had a wonderful time and are looking forward to being there next year.

I'm betting that after Angie got done looking at everyone's trailers that you have a whole list of ideas for your next trailer. Better get busy if your going to get it done for next year.

Walk the Winds 2013 was awesome. It's smaller size (about 15 trailers this year) made it great for us "newbies" as as we didn't get lost in the crowd. We had a wonderful time making new friends, swapping tall tales and getting tips for a few tweaks on our trailer. Here's a few pictures to get things started. More to come later.

Look at what I deleted from your img callouts and they will show as soon as you reload your pics. The id numbers will be diferent and don't forget to put the img tags where they belong. I left them off so they wouldn't show as little boxes with red X's. ;)
