I was wondering if its not too much problem I would love to bring my family over on sat. Just too look at everything and get a few ideas for myself. We won't be able to stay over but thought a quick trip would be fun.

Terry - You are more than welcome to come and visit. Plan on spending at least a couple of hours. It'll take that long to just look at the trailers, it takes lots longer once we start talking.

I think it was said earlier that Saturday is the Kansas "free day" and remember we're at the group camp, I think it's called Lakeview.

Darren said a couple of hours to look? haha I would think you'll want to stay more like four or five seriously... and bring your camera.

And I think three or more people are bringing wood right?
I'm bringing marshmallows and fudge stripe cookies for sure, might do something like dessert instead of the deviled eggs... gotta decide.

And might grab some old christmas lights for the fire... or Darren's got that covered , right ?
Some things are way over my head !! ...but it keeps me looking UP!

I forgot all about the free pass day. That is on Saturday the 19th so no pass' needed. It's for the parks 75th anniversary.

No Xmas lights for me. I do have some CPU's that work nicely.

We will help and would be glad to chip in or bring ingredients if needed. ?

oklahomajewel wrote:My friend (FRIEND) Phil , he helped me with building my camper too , is going to be coming with me ... We're going to try to leave EARLY on Friday morning and be there noonish. Taking his red pickup instead of my black car.

I think he's bringing a coffee maker too .

What's the plans for main dishes on Saturday night potluck ??

Crappie camper's bringing a lasagna.

I think I'm doing my usual yummy deviled eggs, and Phil might be bringing some rolls.

Julie

I am planning my pork tenderloin with french onion/mushroom/brown rice and peach cobbler for the potluck.

Hope to be there mid-afternoon on Friday.

Hide your Route 66 lights. You'll see why this weekend.

Why the cryin'? There's no crying at the campfire ! hahaha

I'm likely bringing fudge stripe cookies and marshmallows... so let me and any kiddos toast the marshmallows in the fire before the lights are added ... or the fire may not be the only thing changing colors !

haha

AND ****** Darren, we're gonna have to pretty much "double up" in spots right??? I'm open to that!

Looks like 20 campers for now. at least 35 folks. (rough count) Who knows what will change.

We will miss you all..

:woohoo: :relaxing:

So Darren have you talked to the campground about more than 20? I don't think they will let wheels on the grass. They may allow some over flow with the same charge at the upper small area that is near. Folks this is a good size campground so these sites being full should not keep anyone from coming. :applause:

I'd say most of us will have to double up. Warpony is coming in late on Friday so I told him I'd share my spot with him.

The contract states that there are no restrictions on the number of campers or vehicles. The main rule is no trailers or vehicles allowed on the grass. Tents are fine.

If it gets really crowded we can close the gates and just park the cars on the road. We'll be fine.

My son doesn't get out of school 'til 3 on friday, so we probably won't get out of town until around 4. I think it is only about an hour and half to State Park, so keep a spot open!! Maybe i will take him out of school a couple of hours earlier, i dont know yet.
