So how big does this hollow log need to be. I think I have a couple but my truck is still in the shop and...... :( :?

I'd say big enough for a wine bottle and an extra inch for space. 4 or 5 inch hole in the middle should do it and 12 inches or taller. The outside diameter shouldn't matter.

Anyone else know? I'm just guessing.

I will go to the other house and measure, maybe take a picture. Seems we ought to have a bunch but the guys split some up...

:)

Not much time left. Hope everyone is as excited as I am.

Here's a simple map of the lake.
Image
The yellow circle is our area.
The blue dot is the "guard shack".
The red dot is the park office.

Since the group area is already reserved you can stop at the guard shack or park office to get your daily permit. I think the shack is usually opened at 4 or 4:30. If you don't see anyone then just come to the group area and we'll get it figured out.

The road goes all the way around the lake so you can go either direction and get to our area. I like to go straight ahead from the guard shack and drive across the dam. Just past the dam take the right turn into the Rocky Cove Campground. Be sure to wave to the big rigs, they love seeing us come through. :) Once out of Rocky Cove take the next right turn into Oak Point and follow that road around. You'll eventually make to the south end of the lake. Our area has a nice bath house at the entrance and I'll have this sign up to show where to turn in.
Image

The park does not close the gate at night so if your are running late you'll still be able to get in.

That's all I can think of. Any questions?

Thanks again,
Darren

That looks like it might be just the right size Miriam. Hope you get your truck fixed in time!

Nice job Darren

I like your map. Prior to last year's gathering I had a heck of a time because they called it one thing on the website and something different on the map (I think, heck that was a whole year ago!)

Take care Miriam. We'll be alright without the logs. Take care of what's important.

Wish I could even consider coming , but my new Jewel Box is still in the middle of the build, and then transmission went OUT on my trusty Honda on Friday .
I've had a terrible weekend this past weekend, but hopefully a little $3000 loan to get a rebuilt tranny will come thru and that might turn my frown upside down.

Y'all have a good time !
