Thank you. We plan on cooking up some pancakes as well. Anything you need us to pitch in/bring?

We are planning on meat for our Saturday evening potluck - still pondering the specifics.

Gary and/or Trudy, PM me and tell me what you need brought. Please. Also tell Wendal that I have a new ball for him if he needs or wants one.

I'll bring some kind of side dish for the potluck. Probably potato salad, again. :D

 Gotta go and shovel the snow now. Can't wait for camping again.

I know there will be at least a couple campers with dogs.

On the potluck I can only offer my opinion.... At the couple gatherings we've been too some of the dogs were tied up near their campers. I suspect there were some lounging under the tables but they weren't a nuisance.

If your dog(s) aren't running around on top the table, jumping up on folks begging for food, and generally are well behaved I don't see any issues.

At Pershing the shelterhouses are way over in a separate area - not immediately adjacent to the campground. At this point I expect we will just hang out inside the loop in the middle of our sites.

Dogs at the food gatherings

Postby queeniejeanne » Sun Mar 21, 2010 6:51 pm

We have always brought our small black Sassie and she only asks for the bare minimum of bites of food.
As long as they are good babies and not like Jeff's....let him tell you the story of the beans and the dogs.....
I've always thought no one minded...if they did I am sure there would have been word passed. Our first gatherings were where others in our groups had dogs they brought so we just followed the leader...usually Wendall is the leader of the dog world........right Gary? Queenie Jeanne

Much as I would love to bring my buddy, Buster, I won't. He's a bum.....lol.....he sucks at washing dishes, he's a bed hog,......an alpha male that feels the need to lick himself when he's not trying to dominate other dogs. His table manners are atrocious and he burps at the most inopportune moments! He's gonna stay home and irritate my wife since I won't be there to do it.......lol........

our dog is typically well behaved, but he's too stubborn to be left tied to a tree w/o whining or barking about it. i'm not 100% sure he'll be attending with me... that depends on if my wife lets me leave him at home with her or not.

he's never jumped on top of the table at a gathering, however he does appreciate a table scrap or two!

Welcoming Glenn and Opal from Dixon, IL to site #5. They posted over on tearjerkers site.

Still a couple reservable sites available ( #4, #14) if you are thinking of joining us.

It will be good to get together with old friends and make some new ones! I think Darren is ready to get out camping as well.
