It is a little early for a accurate weather forcast. We still need to hope, pray, wish, and keep your fingers crossed for good weather.
Jeff as far as the wood what I seen there a couple of weeks ago was already cut and laying in some of the sites. A lot of it was big and needs splitting. I think they do not want people running thru the woods collecting wood. During the season they sell wood. They probably do not want the competion.
I am glad to see that some of the St.Louis folks might make. I am sure we will have a good time no matter what.

The weather for next week is looking a little better. In Mo the next few days is Snow, ice, sleet. It will be gone by the weekend.
I went by the park the other day and it looks like they cleaned up most of the wood. I will bring some but probably not enough for the weekend.
I guess we need to see what everyone wants to eat. I have a lot of ideas just cannot decide. Any suggestions?
Well I have to go battle the roads and get to work.
Later

Lookin better all the time! This will be my maiden voyage. Must I christen my rolling home? How about if I drink the champagne and just throw away the bottle? That reminds me of a joke, an old Irishman asked his friend if he would pour a bottle of Jamison's fine Irish whiskey on his grave when he died. The friend said he would, but did the man mind if he strained it throuh his kidneys first?   See ya there.

Rich S wrote:Gary, the campground is at the south-east section of the lake. To get there go to osage beach on hwy 54 then turn onto hwy 42. Follow 42 several miles to 134. This is the park entrance. Follow it past the stables and the campground entrance is on the left. Follow the main campground road to the end. It is very simple to find.
Do NOT go to Lake Ozark SP public beach #2 on hwy 54. It is on the wrong side of the lake.

Rich

Okay... for those of us (me) coming from the south...
Coming from Springfield, is it better to come north on 65 , then take 54 east until PAST Osage Beach and then follow the directions above... 42 several miles to 134, etc.???????

thanks!!!

e If anyone is coming from the south take hwy65 north from Springfield. At Buffalo take hwy 73 to Macks Creek, that is hwy 54. Stay on hwy 54 thru Osage Beach to hwy 42. Right on 42 about 5 miles to the park entrance. Just follow the signs from there.
Be careful in Osage there is a large sign that says Lake Ozark State Park. That is part of the park also but it is on the wrong side of the lake. You must go to the entrance off of hwy 42.
I will be there early on Fri, Not sure of Mary,s work yet. If she works she will be there after work. I am planning on bringing some Hot Dogs for Fri night. If there are any other early birds if you want to bring some things to go along with them. Chips, Chilli, etc.
As far as Sat night I have several ideas. Pulled Pork, Pork and kraut, Meatloaf, Kabobs, or BBQ dead critter. Let me know what you want. I will also be making some wings and other sides.
Remember there are PLENTY of sites so that is not a excuse for not coming.

I'll do some kind of dessert for Sat night.... not quite shure what yet though.

Thanks for confirming the directions... It's 379 miles and a 6 hr drive for me.... does it get very hilly up there around the lake or anywhere after Springfield?

I will likely take Friday off and get packed as much as possible leave by 10 am Friday ....

SEE YA !!!

There are a few hills on hwy 54 between Macks Creek and Camdenton. They are not to bad and they have a right lane for slower traffic.
