We have really enjoyed ourselves at the couple gatherings we have attended. We have checked out several different Missouri state parks and have decided on Pershing state park for our first attempt at organizing a gathering. I tried to find a date that was between established gatherings and it has come down to April 16 - 18, 2010.

Pershing state park is located at Laclede, MO. Just south of Highway 36 on Highway 130. The park is approximately 18 miles east of Chillicothe, MO., 12 miles west of Brookfield, MO. and 34 miles west of Macon, MO. So it is centrally located between U.S. Highways 63 and 65.

The MoDNR page for this park is located here:
http://www.mostateparks.com/pershingpark.htm

The campground map page is here:

My gallery of photos taken during scouting are available here:

This morning the reservation system finally allowed 2010 dates to be entered. We have reserved site #13.

If possible come camp with us.

#5 - Glenn and Opal
#6 - Tim (2KIRKS)

Gary and I have driven through the park before ... but never camped there. We will definitely plan on being there! (In case you are wondering ... the surgery was cancelled today and postponed until Monday AM). I will try to get reservations made soon and let you know our site number.

We will start with this park. We checked out 4 or 5 different parks so have some others for future. Glad you guys are joining us.

That will be a great site for the dogs. We picked 13 so we had clear sky above the firepit. Hoping we wouldn't have a catastrophe.

So sorry we didn't get to meet at Crawford. Looking forward to meeting you at Pershing. Thanks for joining us.

Well I haven't checked my calendar - but will try to make this one.
I've been trying to earn the camping award by visiting 5 different campgrounds. Haven't been to this one!

Hope to see ya all this spring - and the gypsy wagon has some new doo dads to show off!

I understand the frustration on the Knob Noster reservations and refund.

Sites 17 - 21 have electric, are nearby and not reservable. Sites 26 - 28 have electric but are on the far side of the showerhouse and they are not reservable either.

I'm not sure how busy the park will be in April but their long term plan is to purchase more land to build a new larger campground due to demand. ?

Surely there will be something available. Van Meter is between Branson and Pershing while Long Branch is about 34 miles east of Pershing.

We will look forward to seeing you guys in April!
