We love any of the campgrounds at Red Rock lake. It's close to Pella which is kinda a cool town and within a 1.5 hr drive to the Amana colony Which has a cool museum and I think 5 wineries. You can walk from one end of town to the other and get a real buzz sampling good wine. I'm the designated drive though.

Though I have always thought of IOWA as Idiots Out Wondering Around, I have changed my mind.....love Iowa......just got back from D's family reunion in Sac City....on hwy 20 and the park is a little county park on the Raccoon River: Haggee Park and sewer,elec,water....but also have tents site you could pull into with electric...nice folks and the town is just ultra cute.....

PS What Gary said toooooo! Great park and the Amana Colonies are amazing. the first actually legitimate commune! It worked so well it made them all rich....
