My buddy Dave (Big Woody Campers) and I are looking for a place to meet up next month and would like to hear some input for some campgrounds in the bluffs area/region. Never been up that way before but I've heard some good reviews.

I'm not familiar with SE Iowa But here are some a little farther north
http://www.iowadnr.gov/parks/state_park ... kbone.html ( very close to my home)
http://www.iowadnr.gov/parks/state_park ... caves.html ( have never camped there drove thru was not impressed Others like this park)
http://www.iowadnr.gov/parks/state_park ... _peak.html (from what I have seen this park is usually pretty full)
http://www.iowadnr.gov/forestry/yellowriver.html ( I like this park but it has no hookups)
Or my primitive campground FREE to fellow teardroppers
Manchester Iowa
You are more than welcome any time

Randy, you have a sweet place to camp!! Probably won't make it up that far North this year but I'm glad there is a spot for us if we need it.

Keep it in mind Not really that far north If you really want to see the bluffs along the Mississippi you need to visit NE Iowa anyway.
When are you planning your trip?
I hope to meet you sometime Maybe on one of my trips south
On another note, I saw two tears come thru town this morning at 6 AM (7/1) Was on my way to coffee so not completly awake. Didn't notice the TV's but one white and one aluminum teardrop. Possibly Neb plates. Anyone???

Sorry I should have posted this one, too
You know you and Craig are welcome anytime.
If not before I should see you a couple times in Sept.

If you are looking at SE Iowa, Chatfield Park near Keokuk Ia. is primative, no hookups. Nauvoo Il., just across the river from Keokuk Ia. has a nice campground, lots of things to see there.
We are in Montana now. When we get home I could look around for more campgrounds if you like.
We have spotted 6 teardrops on the road so far. Got to talk to one couple from Washington state traveling with a teardrop.

Wow Jim, you can't get much more SE than that. I took a look at that place in Illinois and it looks nice. Thanks for the help!!

Hey Jeff, check out Geode state Park. My boss grew up at Burlington. says it's good. Has a bike/hike trail I think if that interests you.
Best,
Tom

I think we might try Lacey-Keosauqua SP. Do any of you have reviews of this one?

Camped there 5 or 6 years ago, as I remember the sites are pretty close together. The part we stayed at was shaded, don't know if all are that way.

Hey, if anybody wants to come and camp, by all means, grab you a spot for the weekend. It's not a "formal" gathering so there won't be any door prizes or pot lucks planned.
