More photos (finally fixed the "size" problem!):
We set up our trailer "Bubbles" right near the entrance to the campsite, along with the popup, which we'd never used on a campout before. The sun was pretty bright and it was hot when we got set up so we really needed the shade!
OK, this requires some explanation: Last year, Liz and I went to our first Teardrop Gathering in June. It was the Jefferson State Birthday Bash, hosted by Kay and Grant. On the second day we were there, while we were out fishing, Kay "decorated" bubbles with toilet paper and stuck a note on the door that read "welcome Jefferson State Newbies!"
So, we decided to "welcome" Kay and Grant to Wyoming in a similar manner:
The best part is that they were only about 100 feet away when we did this but they were both sitting in chairs with their backs turned!
Although we had one "main" campfire, some folks wanted to set up a second fire so Shawn helpfully delivered some fire right to them!
Saturday Afternoon was hot and sunny, until about 5pm when all of a sudden Mother Nature decided to play a little trick on us just as we were trying to get set up for the evening's pot luck. We were glad to have the pop up to shelter under!
The weather even tried to destroy Jane's umbrella!
But, there's always an end to any storm and this one was signaled by a nice double rainbow over the lake!
After that it was pot luck dinner and then a group photo. One serious...
...and one silly!
Liz and I posed with the banner
And after that came the evening's "entertainment", the lamp glow! A few lamps needed some tinkering, which our "lamp experts" were happy to provide:
The light show itself was pretty impressive!
(My unlit 242B sits in the foreground - unfortunately I wasn't able to get it operating in time for the gathering! )
And a great time was had by all!
