Thanks for the pics everyone. Know how to make a guy wish he had been there. Maybe I will make it again in 2015.

Norma and I had a great time at Walk the Winds as usual and want to give a special thanks to Mike for hosting the gathering again. Kudos to mike for the Wyoming eggs at the Sunday breakfast and Steve and Cynthia for the delicious hash they prepared. It was a special treat to have breakfast ready for all and made it much easier to get hooked up and ready to depart. Looking forward to next year !!!!! see ya there. Lee and Norma

Great pictures. I so miss the mountains. I should have had Terry kidnap me or something. Maybe I can talk the wife into a little tent adventure next year.

We had a great time, thanks again to Mike and Will for putting it all together again! :applause:

No pics yet, we are on a 'short turnaround' as we are camping again this weekend for the "Trailer Trash Bash" in Canon city.

I will post pics, though, probably next week. Glad I finally got to participate in a Lantern Light Up! Got all 4 of my lanterns burning, special thanks to Terry for getting my black-band 200a going.

Terry: If you are on the forums, what is your user name on the Coleman forums? I know you told me but of course I forgot!

Lenora & I made this our 'big' trip for 2014. Left central Arkansas early Sat morning Aug 9th, & took 5 1/2 days getting to New Fork Lake (woodbutcher, we spent a couple of days at Firehole C/G before making it on up to Pinedale, wonderful place!). Had an absolutely great time, both traveling & at the gathering. We arrived at the C/G a little after noon on Thursday & for a while we wondered if we were in the right place  . No one was there & tho the gate was unlocked it hadn't been opened yet. We pushed it open & drove on in & found a parking spot. Waited around a couple of hours but no one showed. We'd forgotten a couple of items we needed to get in Pinedale, & it was our oldest Great Grandaughter's 13th birthday so we un-hitched & drove back to town to get our stuff & call/text her B'day wishes. Met/passed Steve & Cynthia coming in while still on the gravel road, & they were all setup when we returned along with Martin & Liz, & Will & Lisa. Other folks arrived throughout the day & Friday. Was beginning to think Mike was 'ducking out' on us but he arrived Saturday morning. Had rain showers Thur & Fri but Sat was nice all day. Beautiful location but Lenora & I aren't used to temperatures like that in August (lows in the 40's don't feel so good to us anymore, especially when you hafta 'get-up' & go outside in the night :o ). Met some great folks & was especially happy to finally meet Mike, aka slow cowboy. Couldn't ask for a nicer host, & Will kept things moving along 'til Mike arrived. It's a long drive for us (around 1435 miles, one way) so we may not make it again for a few years but we will if things work out. Left Sunday morning & drove up thru Grand Teton & Yellowstone NP's which we hadn't seen for a number of years. Spent most of one day touring the Buffalo Bill Museum & western center in Cody, WY; then on to the Wind River Canyon near Shoshoni, WY. Temps were beginning to moderate there but lotsa flies kept us from enjoying it as much as we might have. Spend a couple more days heading SE & finally made it back home 'bout eleven Thursday nite  . Been resting up & catching up on stuff at home today. Took lotsa pix & will try to post a few here...

Think we may have had the same campsite as Woodbutcher at Firehole C/G -

Saw this WV homebuilt parked in Yellowstone but no one around (saw it again Monday at McDonalds in Cody but still no one around :( )

Thanks for posting the pictures Mike. If you want any help next year with organizing just let me know. When you have time PM me, I have a couple ideas, you might like.
Next year will be better.
This is a fun outing in a beautiful place, and well worth the trip. I am thinking about coming again in 2015.

Harvey, great pictures, thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed Firehole Canyon. It looks like you were in the same site! Close to the showers and with the best view of the scenery.

Here are some of my pictures:

Our furry friend "Bucky" checking out the campsite. Beautiful, isn't he? And in full velvet, too:

Image

I thought he was a whitetail but someone else was pointing out that he had some mule deer features, too, so he might be a hybrid of some kind?

Our campsite. We got a nice rainbow right after a mild rainshower.

Image

Bucky was wandering around as I was trying to read!

Image

"If you have some extra food, could you just leave it out on your table? That'd be great! Thanks!"

Image

Jane showed off her impressive new trailer

Image

Dee was there in her Vintage Scotty, too!

Image

I really liked Will and Lisa's little fiberglass "pod."

CONTINUED...

We brought our Kayaks this year (and left our puppy Shaila at home to be spoiled by grandma.) This is Liz and Dee out on New Fork Lake

Image

It really is a great place to kayak. This is looking North towards the canyon.

Image

Back at camp, we found this cute little frog hopping around. He was about the size of a dime!

Image

Terry and Dottie, the compartment on the side of the trailer is Dottie's little sleeping platform!

Image

Terry and I fussing with my black-band 200a. He helped me get it running!

Image

It burns!

Image

This was the first year I actually had lanterns to light at the lighting of the lanterns! I was too busy trying to pump up my 200a to see Liz taking my picture:

Image

Not as many lanterns as last year but still spectacular:

Image

Image

My four lanterns: Two black/blue Sears (small and big hat), 200a and of course, the Turd! (275!)

Image

Group photo at pot luck dinner

Image

All in all another great gathering! Thanks again to Mike and Will!
