You get to go thru Grand Tatas NP on the way to Yellowstone.
My Yellowstone experience from a couple years age was that you need at least 1 full day (I'm taking 2) to see the sights. Most parking lots don't have room to allow trailers, so you can't see sh*t while towing your trailer. So, 2 or 3 nights: one for "get there" day, and a night for each sightseeing day. Then you get a fresh start on departure day to head off and see Wyoming.
Some Wyoming sights worth seeing? Been there and did these: Take the east Y'stone exit to Cody for the firearms museum and the Buffalo Bill Museum. Bring swim trunks for a soak at Thermopolis hot springs. From there, south into the Wind River Reservation. For railroad buffs, Cheyenne has the Union Pacific museum.
I must have barely scratched the surface. Surely, some of you locals can guide us to other must-see sights.
