I just had this feeling that we need to invade Frankenmuth, MI.

And if we are smart will make it the same time of the year as the Renfest.

Is anyone else up for that, or do I have to invade Frankenmuth all alone?

Frankenwhat? Is that on our route between Sault Ste. Marie and Sarnia, Ontario? We plan to be that way on about May 13th.

Went there to shop at Bronner's. Actually I was forced to go since I was the only one listed to drive our rental van.

Yes Frankenmuth is south of Saginaw, before you get to 69 and have to turn east to head back to Canada. But May is way before the Renfest. Remind me to check my calendar, I'm hoping we can meet in May!

I LOVE Frankenmuth.
Frankenmuth is where Christmas occurs all year round. It is a great place to go for family-style chicken dinners plus, at Bronner's (http://www.bronners.com/), which is the world's largest Christmas store, you can find every type of Christmas decoration you could possible think of. There are over 50,000 items in their store including 350 decorated Christmas trees. Over 2 million people visit the store every year. The inside of their store is nearly the size of two football fields and you can spend hours in there and still not see everything. I have bought custom, hand-painted Christmas tree ornaments in past years. :thumbs up1:
Mike, I know this thread is over 4 years old but I wouldn't mind a trip to Frankenmuth, especially since it is not even an hour away from my house and Christmas is coming up soon. Wonder if we could camp in Bronner's parking lot?

Maybe we should invade Frankenmuth next summer... We can go to the Fischer Platz, and listen to some German music, and drink beer and eat brats.

Let me try to figure out what would be a good weekend...

Next summer sounds good to me.
My weeks in 2010 without kids give me the following free weekends during the warm weather:
5/7-9, 5/21-23 (Hoosier gathering is this weekend), 6/4-6, 7/1-3, 7/16-18, 7/30-8/1, 8/13-15, 8/27-29, 9/10-12, 9/24-26.

Ok guys, It is now weeks away from summer 2010. Any talk of going? I love Frankenmuth. I'm sure Bronners has teardrop ornaments. If they don't have them then they must not exist!

I like the idea of doing the Renaissance Faire in the fall, if that was what you were thinking of.

I'm going that way at the end of June/beginning of July while we're out of school (I'm a teacher). Its too far from Atlanta unfortunately to do it in the fall.
