Rear bumper?

Do many people build Teardrops with a rear bumper??
I havnt seen many.

There are some, but not too many. The up side is the rear is somewhat protected. The down side is they are great to bang your shins against.

I have one made for mine, but don't have it on yet. With the in curve of the Modernistic design, the bumper does not need to stick out so much. I intend mine to be just a wee bit past the back of the trailer.

My bumper is bent wood, of course.

Here's my bumper. It keeps me from bumping my shins on the receiver hitch for the bike rack. It gave me a place for those LED stop/running lights too :D

I used a mid 60's VW after market bumper on mine. Not that it would save me from anything...its very cheezy, and outright in the way, but it is what they had and does look like its from the era.

Len,

Would it be a good idea to invent a way to take the bumper off when using the galley? It could hook up like a hitch/receiver, I would think.

That would probably have been a better Idea than what I did. I solved the problem..in my typical "Lower the river instead of raising the bridge" style by extending part of the kitchen.

Len..I gotta say...there isn't anything cheezy about that rig. It's one of my all-time very favorites!!! :D

I did that on my Diner, just used the reciever for the bike rack to mount it!
Looks just like Steve C's...(Must be something in the name?)
Pops off when at camp!
I'll look for pictures, It's living in So-Cal now! :cry:
