Home from Ray Roberts

Postby oklahomajewel » Sun Dec 09, 2007 4:36 pm

Well, this weekend at Ray Roberts was VERY COOL !!!! Not talking weather, which was wet and cold this a.m. but could've been worse !
Great to meet some newbies, do some Christmas caroling and see South Central friends before the year is over!

Thanks for the LED Coleman light in the gift exchange, Santa! It's RED just right for my camper!
got home fine, about 2:00 and when I got to the suburbs to the south of OKC I saw the ice on the trees and bushes and the shoulder.. getting worse going in to OKC , and 28* .
Then heard on the radio that we have 80% chance of winter mix and are under an ice storm warning. Came home with ice on the Jewel box and all over everything at home, so I unpacked it all real quickly and pretty much emptied out the tear. Freezing rain is gonna start here in about another hour.

Thanks for a great campout everybody --- a really fun time that lifted my spirits after having a crappy week at home. Thanks to Glenn and Tyler , Dave & Woody for the help to set up and take down.

And what a breakfast !!! Barbara, thanks for all the organizing and the heads up on the restaurant! Wish you had joined us!

Merry Christmas to all and to all a Good Night !!!

Julie
Some things are way over my head !! ...but it keeps me looking UP!

Sounds like a good time Julie, but when is Tear Dropping not a good time.

Freezing rain and snow is something I don't miss. We are going to Blue Spring SP on Wednesday the temps have been in the mid 70's. A little warmer than usual. Keep warm!!! 8)

Glad to hear you had a good time Julie, and got home safely. Hope everyone there did as well.

Coming back into ice and freezing rain is no fun, but we have been living with it since this morning.

Watch out in the morning, I'll bet it will be slick.

We got home between 11:30 & 12:00 with no problems. Had a great weekend staying in a tent instead of the TD but we could have done without the rain this morning. Great to see friends again & meet new ones as well. We're already looking forward to the first gathering of 08 wherever that maybe. Thanks to Todah for putting this weekend together.

Great weekend! Nice to finally meet Kai and Lois. Love that homemade kalua.

Good food, too. The fried turkey was perfect, and the rotisserie chicken was tasty. That pumpkin, cream, caramel, nuts dessert thingy was awesome, too, and I'm not much of a dessert lover.

Too bad winter had to roll in this morning and mess things up. But, at least it waited to the last day.

Good to see everyone again. Now it's time for maintenance and alterations in preparation for the 2008 TD season!

We are not home yet, Stayed last night and froze! We are looking for a warm place to camp, tonight it is a motel room in Odesa. In a couple of days we will be heading for the Copper Canyon in Mexico (Lois wants to gamble a little first, to cold in OK so it is Wew Mexico) and hope that it is warm there. If not it is certenly going to be on the west coast of Mexico as we work our way home.

It was a great time, Thanks Barbara for all of your help.
