Hey CAJUN LADY; I personally checked with rockinrobin about his plane and he told me that it was in his teardrop. Now, I didn't see the plane, but I saw his teardrop and if it was in there it must have been one of those power parachute rigs. I didn't get to make all of LCG5, so I asked madjack if he thought that maybe next year I can be a halfa-- rookie.
DulcimerMan; In checking out powered parachutes while trying to figure out how rockinrobin was doing what he was thought to be doing, I came across something interesting. You mentioned that the engine on your Cessna 140 would quit on a landing approach . Well, I found out that backpack powered parachute flyers actually kill the engine on landing - this is so that if they trip, they don't have a personal encounter with a turning prop. A cart type rig can be used with the parachutes and I guess with it, the flyer could keep the engine running. I would have to use the cart because I found out that the hardest landing to be expected with a backpack rig is like jumping off a truck tailgate. That may not be much to some, but a bit too much for me - maybe something like half that height. They recommend wearing boots that give ankle support, but there are bones on up the system that I would be worried about. Anyway, I thought about you when I read that.
