Maybe we're not meant to camp at Inks Lake. Where else could we go. It's getting a little late to schedule for Memorial Day.

How many people do we have that already have reservations?

I've got reservations at Inks. We'll be there because I need another test run before IRG. It also gives me a completion date to shoot for.

I couldn't find the map that I had, which is probably why I forgot to respond. I think that the primitive sites are tent only, I remember there being a path from the parking area to the site.

Rocky,

We made reservation the week we posted so we'll be there. So you got all your leaks fixed? We survived last weekend at Beaver Bend leak free. I think they're all finally plugged.

What leaks?

I'm taking the trailer apart so that I can get the aluminum on. I got the trim and started playing with it. Annealing it isn't as bad as I thought, it does take some time to do all the trim though.

I'll probably get the sheets for the sides next week. This was supposed to be a long weekend for me but I got volunteered to work Sat night.

Inks lake curse

Postby Cindy » Fri Apr 07, 2006 1:11 pm

Guys looks like we have an Inks lake curse. Texas parks are notorious for running out of space months ahead. I wanted our family to join us but I don't think that will happen either. I may check out the Corp of Engineer parks and see what they are like to reserve.
You who are not in could start checking weekly because people cancel reservations as the time gets near.

Just called the park and the primitive sites are really primitive....1 1/2 mile hike in...NO ROAD! So much for that.

I think the real problem is the holiday weekend. Checked the site and there are lots of sites available for the next weekend.

I didn't make a reservation because I didn't know if I'd be finished. But it's looking like I will.

It's clear to me that we won't get spaces for a gathering at any state park on a holiday weekend.

Dave,
There is a park just west of Kerrville you should check out. I don't think it's a State park but it's a nice one. Right on the river and the deer are so tame they'll eat out of your hand. The one at Whitney is my favorite.
