LCGII doorprizes/raffle...your input needed

Postby madjack » Thu Sep 27, 2007 1:57 pm

...so far for this years event, I haven't done anything is this regard...so what do all of you wish to do...my inclination is to do this as a stricktly door prize deal...if done at all...I do not wish to do the raffle thing at all...if this is to be done as a door prize deal, the prizes will all have to be donated to the cause...prizes should be camping or td related and can be anything from a gag gift on up from there...please give me your thoughts on this and if anyone wishes to volunteer to head up and organize this effort, let me know as well....thanks..............

MadJack, I will volunteer!!! Let me know what exactly I can do.

Mk

Edit...Humm.... I have no idea how to do it. But I'm sure I can figure it out, or help someone that does.

MJ, you have a PM from me on one item. Will that work?

I think we have a roll of those double-ticket things we can use for a drawing, too.

I agree, no raffle, just door-prize drawing.

"door" prizes , not messing with buying extra tickets.

But not to be picky, if there are "gag" prizes that are kinda cute and funny but cheap and not usuable, then it's not fair for someone else that got a nice $40 value something.

Just my too sense...

I'm thinking of something that is about $10-15 dollars, or maybe two items.

If done as ''door prizes'' would each persons name just be entered once? And should each person only donate one prize? There will be some relatives and such that might not bring a donation. and then there are couples and families...

Julie, what we have done at a lot of car gatherings is just give out the tickets from one of these 50/50 ticket rolls, and draw one-at-a-time for all the prizes.

Image

In ours, prizes have ranged from fifty-dollar car-care kits to two-thousand dollar watches at the same drawing event, and nobody has ever complained about fairness. People have always understood the "luck of the draw."

We obviously won't be able to gather any high-dollar stuff, but the values may vary. Some folks will swap prizes afterwards. Since it doesn't cost anyting to enter, it's all fun.

We shouldn't need to have the campers bring stuff, either. We can call on some businesses to supply door prizes.

The only certain thing is that I will not win anything. I never do. :(

Oh , yes I understand Glenn... not complaining just thinking out loud.
I know at Minden it all seemed to work out but also heard a complaint about donating more than one prize and they didn't like what they ended up with, etc.

You're description sounds fair... I'm NOT complaining !!! :D

I have handed this off to GLen and MaryK...if Glen thinks he can get some corporate swag...cool...as far as tickets go, I think that every ADULT that attends the potluck should getta ticket...if anyone truly wishes to donate something, contact Glen(caseydog) or MaryK...I think the BEST prize of all is simply enjoying the company of some of the finest folks around.....

MaryK is actually the boss-lady on this. I am calling on companies to beg for prizes. If anyone works for a company that might benefit from some good PR with TD owners, PM me with a contact.

I have three items, so far. Hope to snag a few more today. If I don't get some good stuff, I may end up on the MaryK spanky list. I better get busy.

I'll donate 5 door prize items! I'll bring them and someone will have to show me who to give them to.
