South Central Tears logo

Postby Dooner » Wed Feb 13, 2008 3:22 pm

Hey SCT Folks,
I was just curious if maybe we could get together and create a new logo for the SCT. I remember that we had one member post wanting to join the Tear Jerkers (really wanted the South to take up a chapter) just because they had a cool hotrod and teardrop logo.
Since then, I created my own, as you can see below. In the South, we drive trucks, so that is what I drew.
Some have been using the picture of the metal plaque. And Cindy handed out some flags with a different logo on it. Those are cool, but I thought maybe we need one logo that everyone agrees on.
I know there are more creative people out there than me, so what do you think? Can we get together and come up with a logo for the group? It would be nice for t-shirts and hats. And to let evryone else know that we are a group.
Just my thoughts. Feel free to tell me to shut up.
Dooner.

yes, trucks are good for the south but I don't tow with a truck.
I would prefer a color other than aqua on that one , personally.

I like the state flags used on both of the designs, the names of the state's on cindy's...
I don't have photoshop or any skills like that to come up with anything better, but kinda like Cindy's the best.
No offense intended.

I'm sure this is no help but I like them both.
T-shirts would be nice too.

:x WHAT! NO TRUCK! AND YOU LIKE HER'S BETTER! WHERE DO YOU COME FROM, OKLAHOMA?! :x

  Just kidding Julie. This is what I was wanting. I drew that logo from what I like. I was hoping we could get some opinions from members and possibly some designs from some, and maybe we can come up with one single logo that everyone likes. Then we would all look like we belong to the same group. If people wanted to make their own t-shirts with the logo, everyone would have the same.
:? Am I making sence? Maybe I should be wearing a straight jacket. :?

Is there a reason why South Central isn't under the Tear Jerkers moniker??

I think this topic is something to discuss over drinks around a campfire at a Gathering.

This has been kicked around for quite some time, (See link below) however, there was some consensus that everything that could be handled by a tearjerker chapter could be handled on the forum just as well.

I think Cindy and Dave came up this logo some time ago

Image

The small GIF image ( as illustrated below in the signature area) is a photo of a plaque displayed by TODAH (Todah tear) at one of the gatherings. it was such a hit that we kinda used it as our badge.

Starleen2- I like the one Cindy has on the flag like that. If everyone likes that one, that would be great.

I do have one question though; I can understand Mexico being added to the south central region, but how did Kansas and Missouri drop from the north. Look at the region map.

I don't mind including people, but we might as well not stop there. Let's bring in the rest of the states and Canada. And let's not forget our frosty friend, Heikki (Classic Finn). Let's take over the world.

We have so many from Kansas and Missouri that attend our gatherings we adopted them some time ago.
The gif at the bottom is a picture of the plaques that Todah made for everybody. I display it proudly in my tear.

How 'bout a red truck. Every one knows red is the hot rod color and tears came from the age of true hot rods.

WE have talked over the Tearjerkers thing around several campfires and saw no reason to organize a chapter as such...you will notice that most Tearjerker organizations are smaller, more regional groups than the amount of area the SCT covers...also, the only requirements for a TJ group is to have a logo featuring a hotrod pulling a TD, which is what Todd came up with for the original TJ group (so your HR PU may be in copyrite violation) and a website to keep up with local events...oh yeah, and a "president" to organize it all...I very much like Cindy and Todah's offerings but that doesn't mean that other LOGO's in a similar vain would not be welcomed...just be sure to include the flags(all of them)!!!!!!!!!
