Here is a good site to look at gass prices.

http://www.gasbuddy.com/gb_gastemperaturemap.aspx

The closest prices to IRG listed are in Eureka $3.97 to $4.09 for regular unleaded.

I like Jeromes and Steves logic. Make the Trip and work harder later to make up any short falls in the Budget. My situation is that I have been planning the West coast trip for more than a year. I have to deliver the TD I built for my kids and grandkids who live in Oregon. Its not the jump from $3.50 to $4.00 that is killing us, it is the 0 to $3.50 that is the killer. Lets enjoy the Gathering, and then reduce our driving from August on. Hope to see everyone at the IRGII.

Gas Prices

Postby The Teardrop Nanny » Sun May 04, 2008 8:05 pm

8) Hi folks,

We've been talking about the same things amongst ourselves here on the west coast. I will also say again that this area of California has had some of the highest gas prices in the nation over the last decade so do plan on it your gas budget.

We do hope you'll all be willing to come out and do your best to finance it, high prices or not, but understand the dilemna. Dean and I talked about people transfering their $30 registration fee payment over to someone else who may be able to take your place. At this point, once the rest of the mailed ones come in from the Dam Gathering, we may have reached our maximum capacity, or we are VERY CLOSE. We are willing to allow another individual to come in your place (take over your registration number with your permission) if you make arrangements with them yourself and they can PM us that they agree to this, and you've paid them satisfactorily for their slot. NO WAITING list at this point in time.

Because this is a private venue and we rent it so far in advance, we must pay the FULL fee for use of the Grove whether everyone shows or not...the County does not give refunds, so we will roll over any prepaid individuals to keep our costs held for the event. Please PM me if you are in such a situation (Marti D./Phyllis G: yes, you may do a trade/ that is your answer )

Looking forward to seeing a great turn-out in July, thanks for the effort and try! TDN

Now lets be real about the IRG#2 and gas price! Now I got my wife 49 years ago for less than $10.00 now over that time she has cost me thousand's of dollars and I can't remember the honeymoon. Now I was at IRG#1 and WELL be at IRG#2 and i'll never forget #1 and have a feeling #2 well surpass that!
To not to go is something like being next to heaven and not to look around.
$4.00 plus a gal. nothing! Just skip a few $ on food and it's less calories too.
Skinny Bill PS she's not going her and her next old man well do fine.

Well..........................

We are still on for now. I've got IRS rebate funds tucked away in the safe. I had a profitable weekend in Abilene and I've tucked a portion of that in the safe too.

I heard Charles telling someone in Abilene that we were going to California this summer.

YEA.................

I made reservations for my Grandson and me at Yellowstone, so I really feel like the trip to the IRGII is progressing. Hope everyone makes the most of the travels to and from the IRGII.

It sounds like you will have quite a trip since Yellowstone is not any where between California and Texas!
Glad you are making the most of it in this beautiful country of ours. :ok: :ok:

Eunice,

You are correct and our trip includes Carlsbad, Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone, Portland, Oregon and then the IRGII. Hope to see you there.

sounds like a wonderful trip. Kenny and I loved yellowstone. If you have the time you should cross Montana and see Glacier National Park. it is beautiful.
Yes Kenny and I will be at the IRG. We live 12 miles away so no excuse to miss it.
