Greg !!!!! How many tire tubes do you have ? I don't know if it's work $15 or so to rent a tube to just sit in it on and off for a couple of hours... not sure.

PS .... There is a website posted earlier on here, or thru the L&L 's website where there is a $3 off coupon for tube rentals ~!!!!!!
Some things are way over my head !! ...but it keeps me looking UP!

Hi Julie, We only have 2 of the rubber truck tubes that a neighbor gave to us and that was all he had, but we also have 2 new vinyl tubes that should work fine on the Comal since it is deep and mild with no rocks that I can remember. You are welcome to use one of the them if you would feel safe enough.

Speaking of the Comal, are some of you planning on floating there instead? How far is that? Thanks Greg, we'll see ...

Jewel,
The Comal is in downtown about 15 mins. away, we can car pool there as they dont have a lot of parking. My wife and I will do the Comal Sat. morning and sit the river sat. afternoon. We also have a few extra tubes if anyone needs them.

OH ! that sounds good to me. To do SOME real tubing ... I wonder how long the Comal will take? Then we can sit and relax and watch people attempt to float by that afternoon ... Maybe I can put my lazyboy lawn chair close to the water and get some tan on my white legs! ack! haha

ANY loaner tubes would be much much appreciated by me... it's a long drive and lots of gas for this money poor girl! haha

Cool beans DE !!! I've had my mind on actually tubing so that sounds like a plan..... and I don't mean to be nit picky, but my nephew and girlfriend and possibly my brother from the Austin area might be coming down too ... don't know if they will stay overnight Friday night or just Saturday night or what.

How early do you mean by Saturday morning??? Like 9 ish??

thanks ... so I can let them know. They might just wanna meet us at Comal or something.

Extra RV site

Postby Cindy » Sat Aug 01, 2009 3:37 pm

I could not return our RV site so there is an extra. All I can get for it is $20. :( They said if we put a tent on it, we will have to pay an extra $50. No tents without 2 cars per site and that is $25 a day. So, if anybody wants our site, let me know and we can negotiate a price. ;)

Julie, the Comal is a spring fed river, so it is not affected by dry weather. It is crystal clear water. The river is small, but very nice. Oh, it is rather chilly water. The first few seconds of entry is quite the wake up call -- and hangover cure.

There are places where you can put on a diving mask and look down at the tiny fishies. And, there is a chute that is fun to go through a few times.

The Guadeloupe is much more of a "party" river. The Comal is more of a relaxing river.

Well I was hoping to meet y'all on the river next weekend but my truck and my wife are in Michigan for a couple more weeks. So I guess I'll see some of y'all next month at Joe Pool Lake. Y'all have a good time.

If we make homemade ice cream, are there enough of you that might have some to make it worthwhile? We have no way to keep it frozen after it's made, so it would go to waste if not eaten that day. Anyway, just a thought... (We usually make it on July 4th. for the grandkids, but this year we didn't need it, so we still have all the fixin's). :)
