Stop the press Jack!!!
I've been doin' a bit more homework and research on your fine state and I honestly feel that a different name for the gathering would be better...
Now I may be tucked away up here in the big trees, kinda isolated like... but I've never heard about the cypresswood trees down there. I did read that the bald cypress is the state tree, though...
When I think of Louisiana... gators, swamps and Cajun everything comes to mind.
I also read that the state flower is the magnolia and that the state bird is the brown pelican... (Is that 'cause it's the gator's favorite food?) Also read that the state colors are blue, gold and white. The flower and the bird didn't make much of an impact on me, but the state colors gave me some direction...
I say go with a name that puts you better on the map, or choose something that has to do with your locale that people will recognize in a flash!
I've been playin' with some stuff again and in keeping with what we've already came up with, I'm workin' onna LTG logo (Louisiana Teardrop Gathering) in blue, gold and white of course...
I've been tryin' to come up with a good catch phrase to capture the Cajun flavor... but I think I could use a little hep on dat one.
As for white, I say use that as the background color, to keep costs down and go with blue and gold on the logo...
I'll post a rough draft shortly.
I also read that ya'll don't have counties down there... call 'em parishes instead. I was a bit confused about all the parish this and that when Katrina hit, but I'm clear onnit now...
