Jeanie, sorry to hear about the pulled muscle or tendons. Been there, done that, very painful. We'll be praying for quick healing.

:x It looks like we won't be leaving Fort Worth until around 4:00 Friday afternoon. It'll be real fun putting up a tent in the dark.

Please excuse another newbie question. Are there any special late arrival procedures we need to know about - like where do we find out which campsite we have?

Thanks.

I don't know about the procedures, but we just had the time change so you may still have a wee bit of daylight.

I will be leaving College Station Tx. on friday morning. Does anyone know how long it will take to get to Beavers Bend and way is the best to take? I know I can mapquest it but I figure you may know of a quicker or more scenic way. After over 1000 miles on highway 35 coming down I know I will be sick of looking at the back of semi's by friday.

Here you go Lori is a route from somewhere in College Station , Tx to Beaver Bend Stat Park, OK. You can change your starting point in Google to get an exact route from where you are leaving from to Beaver Bend Park camp ground. Just click on the blue link above.

Safe travel and I hope you have fun ! :applause:

That route looks pretty good. It will be mostly two lane highways, but that part of East Texas is nice, and I seldom encounter traffic issues going through there.

I would expect the drive to be a good five hours, or more, if you stop for a meal.

Sunday at noon, I had six inches in my backyard. I drove into Dallas to shoot a car, and there was almost no snow left on the ground there.

Hopefully, that was the last, last gasp of winter here. :worship:

Ok newbies

When you get to the Buckeye campground just drive on in and pick out a camp site that you like.
There is no need to stop at the camp hosts trailer.
We have them all reserved for our gathering so "Modisette" will be on every site.
No assigned sites.

Jeanie, I hope you are feeling better. Sounds like you have plenty of "pills" to help you some what. I'm sure just being with all of your friends will make you feel even better. :D

Tom, I'm sure there will be plenty of us to hold flashlights for ya while you put up your tent
It has been years since I've put one up so I doubt I'll be much help.

I'm ready to get to Beavers Bend

CD Yeah that was funny, alot of people I talked to just got dusted, I was glad to see one last pileup of snow, but I'm done now... I think I heard a news report about some psycho shooting at cars yesterday! :pictures:

Tom, I'm not much good at setting up a tent having only done it once, but I'll hold your beer for you :R

Thanks for the info Linda, I am a newbie to this gathering and I was wondering how that would work.
