Well, Rich S. sent me a PM and said he was having problems posting but that the Nevada MO site is good for them.

I looked at both and I would personally rather be at a campground type setting with trees than just an RV park. I'm more of a lake/campground type. But both of those places look good.... are they both in about the same area?

DEFINITELY want a decent bath house with plumbing!!!
Some things are way over my head !! ...but it keeps me looking UP!

A heated bathhouse is high on my wish list that time of year during camping. Could get kinda niply in there during showers without some heat.

Did anyone ever find out about heated bath house in Ft Scott or Nevada? I think I will call them both tomorrow. I went by FT Scott's Gunn park and it is beautiful and has two small lakes. Maybe the trees will still have some leaves on. Probably not though.

Do we have a head count?

Miriam you can count me a Maybe I will try. No one has marker the company calendar for vacations. The supervisor has marked days he will not be available ( most all of December ). I have to work all the holidays in Christmas and New Years with no releive ( we are 24-7 operation ). I will still have the weekends off.

Trudy and I will most probably almost definately sorta for sure be there. We don't mind pit toilets and spit bathes so running hot water isn't necessary for us. We just like camping and time with friends.

Denice and I would love to join a campout in December. It all depends on the date and Denice's schedule. As soon as a date is firmed up, Denice and I will see if we can make it work. :)

That's 'bout the same for Lenora & me. When a date is set we'll check out our 'family obligations' & see how it works for us. Never camped much north of 'here' in Dec ('cept out west huntin' trips when it was really cold  ); might like to give it a try

:) Hi Everyone,

Do we know any more about a December campout? Some folks talked about Nevada, MO and others Fort Scott, KS. We are probably up for either one. Just need a date to see if it will work and to get it on the calendar. Crisp weather with a good campfire (and heat in the tear!) sounds like a fun weekend.

:o I'm sorry, I intended to get more information on Ft. Scott. It is a beautiful campground, and cheap too... Just need to know that they are open for sure and if we can have fires in the fall. Remember that there will be no leaves on the trees. FT Scottt has a lot of trees and two lakes. I also needed to find the showers. For some reason they weren't where I could find them, but I went through way too fast and with a tire problem.

Oh and if anyone else has a favorite we might look at them too. ;)

Hey... I did Branson prior to Xmas one year... lots of "good shows" to see, etc. and Silver Dollar City was fun w/ the singing the hot cider, etc; and I bet Silver Dollar has a pretty nice campground in the "trees"... I'd be up for that.... Sorry, but any kind of "KOA" style campground doesn't do much for me... I love State and National Parks

Missouri State parks close their showers so not a good idea for them. If someone knows of a campground near Branson with showers (if we need them)7 I am game.

If it doesn't get too cold. You all need to remember that Springfield and Branson are on the wrong side of the ice line. 8) The Christmas lights at Shepard of the Hills are supposed to be spectacular.
