When are ya'll headed up. we are leaving Friday morning. We haven't decided weather we will go up 59 or up 45 to Buffalo and thru Palestine yet. Palestine is a prettier drive.

Steve,
Sounds good . . . We're planning on leaving Freindswood early Friday morning. We haven't picked a route yet . . last year on the bike we took 59. We'll prolly be about ready for breakfast by the time we get up in your stomping grounds.

Bob (and Karen)[/quote]

Let me know what time, we can meet in Conroe for breakfast. We are leaning towards the Buffalo-Palestine route and stopping at Woody's smoke house in Centerville for some last minute door prizes.
Alot more scenic than going thru Cut and Shoot.
Anybody else???

Steve,
We're planning on leaving by 6:00AM to beat the morning rush on I45. We should be in Conroe by 7:30. Any place there that has enough parking to park these big rigs?

Bob

BTW, Rwhitley is not going to be able to make it and has given us permission to use his spot.

Thanks Robert . . . sorry you won't be able to make it.

BTW, MadJack, what's the Snipe population in them parts. It is Snipe season, and I have a great Snipe sack, and I'm a licensed Snipe hunting guide. Do you think we can bag one or two?

Hey, Keith, have you ever hunted Snipe? It's a southern delicacy. Mi-T-fine eatin'. How 'bout you Caly-fornia folks.

I'm bailing. Site 61 will be available as soon as I figure out how to cancel the thing. There is no "cancel reservation" screen shown on the "current reservations" screen as per the FAQ. *sigh*

Ok, I really don't know what the hell I'm doing. I can't cancel the reservation, so I'm going to make the trip. :?

I'm going to arrive really late. I'll be leaving Houston after work (4:00 woohoo traffic!) so I won't be in until after 11:00 or so. :(

Does this place have a gate, and if so can someone email me the gate code or their phone number so I don't have to camp outside the park?

Last year Jack mentioned that the snipe hunting was pretty good....and what is great, they taste just like chicken! You can use them in any DO recipe that calls for chicken! Even us Caly-fornia folks have had them but their taste depends on what they've been feeding on, free range stuff can be gamey! Clean a lot easier than a quail. Have a good time yall! Doug
