Looks like we just might make it a gathering next summer.

Larry,
California was great (huh Woody).............

Can't wait to share the temperature story with everyone.

Uh.....the new teardrop..........."The Dude" has been sold.
Someone stopped us in the Wal-mart parking lot in Las Vegas on our way to the IRG. Told us he wanted Charles to build him a teardrop and I told him this one was for sale when we get back home. We didn't think we would hear from him again but we have. He has put the teardrop on Lay - a - Way. We have received a deposit and he will be sending funds every month and pay balance when he comes to pick it up.
So........I guess I'll have to show you the photo album next time we are at a gathering.

cccamper, Harvey, Larry, Woody ....I'd be glad to add you all to the tenative list.

For us it is probably best to write us as Extremely interested. Sounds wonderful!

Put me down for this one too. Even if I'm not done by the LCG (looking like a strong possibility) surely I should be at least close to finished by then.

I haven't been over to this part of the forum for a while. I lived in Alamogordo, worked, fished and hunted in Cloudcroft and Ruidoso, so if you need any local info maybe I can help. Shopping is limited to say the least in Cloudcroft, bring everything! Best to get what you need in Alamo or Rui (as some call them) I work up some maps (fuel, food, parts) if it helps. I cut wood in Cloudcroft every year, so I will be down in the area this November if anyone needs more info. There is also some great camping north-west of Ruidoso.

I guess I should check out the forum more often. I'm down in El Paso, Texas and have property up that way where I do most of my camping. If you don't mind slumming with a "tent camper", then I'm sure we can make it. The family and I went to Sunspot Observatory this past May. We got rained and snowed on. Can you Imagine that? Here's a few pictures:

I never camped at Lower Fir. I camped over in Sleepy Grass campground. There's a paid trout pond near Lower Fir if I remember right. Next time I go up I'll get some pictures of the campground for everyone. In Cloudcroft there's not much to do (just the way I like it). A couple of food places and one western bar. At Sunspot Observatory, theres a real impressive museum and gift shop. I had lived here over ten years and never knew they had the museum there. It's a must see if you're into astronomy.

Oh yea one more thing, we caught some trout on that trip:

This is the exact information I posted in the "Suggest a gathering" section

OK folks, I hope to get some immediate feedback.

I checked on reserving a campground.
As of 9:30 pm CST the lower fir camground was available for the dates below.

I do not want to reserve untill I get some feedback. Please let me know your thoughts or plans ASAP.

I'm looking at Thursday, July 2, 2009 through Saturday, July 4, 2009. This would have us leaving out on Sunday.
Does 3 days sound ok to everyone? Should I add one more day (Sunday)?
The maximum number of trailers is 20
If all sites are filled and there are more than 30 people in attendance this breaks down to $5 per night per site.

I did not make the reservation as it has to be paid in full when reserving.
We do not mind doing this but we would need some sort of deposit from those that plan to attend.
I don't think I would be asking too much for the full amount as a deposit ($15.00 for 3 nights)

If I get enough feedback I can get back to the reservations tonight and give them cc number.

Gary and I are seriously talking about making it to NM. Beaver's Bend in the Spring .... NM for the summer ... and LCG IV in the fall. Sounds like a winning combination to us! Go ahead and put us down for attending. Will take 3 days down ... 2 at the gathering ... and 3 days home. Trudy
Where ever we raise the hatch is home.
