My wife and I and some friends of ours rented a cabin there last year (aug.2008) and the weather was gorgeous. There are several camp sites but im not sure how many have a pavilion or something like that. But camp Huaco is a good place on the river. http://www.camphuacosprings.com/index.html also http://www.rockinr.com/index.asp and http://www.rainbowcamp.us/ these are all great camp sites and have a lot to offer. Spinnernut if you need any help just let me know i will help anyway i can.

Thanks

I have contacted a few camp sites on river road and spoke to a few that could accommodate quite a few of us. And I spoke to a lovely lady named Laverne @ Lazy L and L campground up close to saddler http://www.lazylandl.com/index.html%20and%20she%20has%20agreed%20to%20hold%2033%20spots%20for%20us%20for%20a%20week.%20the%20spot%20#s%20are%20101%20-%20133%20and%20if%20you%20look%20at%20their%20site%20map http://www.lazylandl.com/map.html those spaces are right on the water with power and water.the space cost $35.00 a night up front. She also agreed to let us double up in the spaces if need be. There are a few others im waiting to hear from but they're not on the water and not quite as good a spot on the river http://www.riorafttx.com/. If anyone has any questions let me know and ill find out.

I got this e-mail yesterday from Rio raft
Donnie,
In response to your call yesterday, I have put some figures together for your group for August 7-8, 2009.
The base rate is $32 per site night and figuring 24 sites, the total would be $1612.80. I reduced the rate on the 12 sites without sewer to $28 which brings the total to $1512.00 and can offer the meeting room for $100 instead of the $125.00 If there are more than 24 trailers, we could double up on the pull thru sites for an additional $20 per trailer. You mentioned river trips and we can offer a 20% discount for your group in tubes, rafts, kayaks or inflatable canoes. If you have questions or need more information, please contact me.
Hope to hear from you soon,
John Guenzel

let me know what everyone thinks
Thanks

Just for pet planning--Lazy L&L and most of the parks on the Guadalupe prohibit dogs or pets during the summer. That would probably prevent me from attending.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

spots 170 to 187 would be great if we didnt have to go so far to get to the river  and thats only 17 spots, i would like to camp by the river in the 101 to 133 spots and hopefully we could take up the whole row. but if everyone wants the loop thats fine with me ;)

Spinnernut, I was wondering if you have had a chance to look over some of the camp sites I listed, they will start filling up fast once they start taking reservations.

Thanks Big DE
