Dennis says the park rangers will be reading our threads probably. So will need to stay under the radar. keep all cups, cans and glasses in bags while walking from site to site.
I, as I usually do, can no longer plead ignorance and ask forgiveness. :CC Oh, hell I'll try it anyway. if that doesn't work I'll call in the "I used to be a cop" card.
I say we trust Ed and Ruby, along with caseydog. QueenieJeanne

ENOUGH...................

You are making me sad and hungry.

We really wanted to see Palo Duro Canyon and of course all of our Teardrop friends.

But, I guess our daugher will only Graduate from Junior College once so we'd better stay home for the event.

Of course.......she is only attending commencement exercises because her best friend is doing it for his mom and he told her if he goes she goes.

Hope everyone has a Great time. I guess if we plan to attend Palo Duro Canyon in 2010 I'd best start working out and get buff in case of a strip search.... WOW that is a scarey thought.

Yes Woody, Donna & Mark are joining us . We have a few campers this year that are not on the forum as of now. I feel sure they will be addicted uh I mean may decide to join after the gathering. Time for a count down yet (less than 2 weeks) to go? It is almost raining here today but no rain yet just promises. Maybe we will not have any searches this year.lol They do seem to patrol Palo Duro a lot closer then other Texas Parks. It may be because of the risk factor with the cliffs and things. But we had fun and stayed safe and out of trouble last year. I bet we can make it 2 in a row :D :D

Palo Duro recently expanded. It's a fairly famous (and in spring often fairly crowded) park. It's also close to Amarillo, and for lots of reasons the TP&WD folks are, shall we say, careful with the rules there?

Now, if you want to see a CLOSELY PATROLLED park, try Hueco Tanks.

Linda & Charles, Wish you could be here. You will be missed. Maybe later. Laredo, I am sure you are correct about why they play closely by the rules. Plus if it should come a rain storm and they have to evacuate, as does happen on occasion) I bet driving out of the canyon after a few too many could be tricky. One of our new members Debistogs will be joining us at Palo Duro and she can tell you about being evacuated. Postby Cindy » Wed May 06, 2009 6:25 am

Hey, we will be there late on Friday but will be there with the foam wonder - no she ain't finished yet.
I will bring sweets - probably chocolate.

Also, I still have 2 cans of Coco Lopez left from the last sleep over. Something happened to the Rum to go with it - not sure what
See you all there.

Cindy, So glad you all are going to make it with the Foam Wonder. Hope you make it in time for dinner. For Friday evening we are planning on BBQ sandwiches, Baked Beans, Shells with cheese and cold pickles and Cobbler. We will keep some warm for you if you are late. I have posted the hours for May on the other thread. Gate closes at 8:00pm on Thursday and 10:00pm on Friday. If anyone expects to be later than that please let us know and we will try to get them to let you come in late(didn't work last year but I haven't asked this year) we can always beg.

By the way for Thursday we are planning Frito Pie and will have Hominy Casserole, corn bread and cobbler.

Keep the light on for us

Postby Cindy » Wed May 06, 2009 5:57 pm

Ed, don't hold supper but keep the light on for us. We won't leave here till 4pm and it is at least 5 hours. Better do whatever you have to do to get us in if we run a little later than 10. We will eat on the way. I can't wait that long for dinner. See you then.

Cindy, That would be a little late for BBQ, might make for a restless night. Hopefully you will make it by 10:00 pm but we will see what we can talk them into. The lady we visited with was very nice and said she would be working Thursday & Friday so maybe she can help. However the lady that seemed to be easy to work with at the star of last year broke her ankle and was off until June. We may want to say a little prayer for this lady's health and safety. See some of you guys in 8 days and the rest in 9 days. :D :D Ed & Ruby
