I have not been there, but my wife has. It should be fun. We are looking forward to being with other people with smaller units. We feel so small at most parks!

Sorry we have been so slow to respond but things have been a little crazy around here but we are always ready for a camp out at Palo Duro (or anywhere we can get with other tear dropper and ttt friends) Hope the wind will be a little kinder this year. Mike and Brenda we are looking forward to planning this with you guys. Can hardly wait to see our friends and meet some new ones. Just a reminder, I know it is early but last year the park was fully booked and they will not let us put 2 trailers in one space. A trailer and tent is fine but no more than 1 trailer to a space. If any one has any questions just e-mail us or give us a call (phone # is in profile). When you get a reservation if you will e-mail us the name, date and reservation number, we will get with Mike and Brenda and get spaces. Lets go camping. :ilovecamp: :ilovecamp: :beautiful: :ilovecamp: :beautiful: :ilovecamp: Ed & Ruby

I just tried to make my reservations a few minutes ago (before it slipped my mind)... and the lady asked me which section I wanted. She said that it is dif from last year which was 1st come, 1st serve. It is NOW reserved by sections: Sagebrush ($25/night), Mesquite ($25/night), and Hackberry ($22/night). ....so which section are we camping in?
One of the sections has 30A connections and the others have 50A. I forget which was which.

Todah, Sagebrush is the section we have camped in previously. Hackberry is the one with 30 amp and Mesquite is the last one on the wrong side of the water crossing and has very little shade. So my choice would be First Sagebrush, 2nd Hackberry, and third Mesquite. We will go out to the canyon tomorrow and see if they are reserving by section. Last year they would ask you which section you preferred when you made a reservation but when you arrived it was still first come first pick. Mark and Cindi, we will miss you but I know you guys will be having fun. Maybe next time. Ed & Ruby

Palo Duro

Postby Mrs Rayvillian » Thu Nov 12, 2009 4:59 pm

I made our reservations via Reserve America. The campsite on the reservation confirmation says "nonspecific" .... "this is not a site-specific reservation. You will be assigned a site when you arrive at the campground". I did request a 30A site ... did I goof up Trudy

I just pulled up the reservation ... and it says Hackberry.

Nope that is Texas as I have learned! What happens is that the earliest kind camping soul who arrives will alert the park attendant that we have a group coming and request that our list of names are placed together, so you did good!

Trudy, Thomas is correct, in the past this would not have made any difference but if they have changed to reserving specific areas, you might wish to contact them, drop the 30A request and Hackberry and request the Sagebrush area just to be sure...the areas are not close to one another and you don't wanna end up all by yourselves with everybody else grouped elsewhere...just a thought ya know................

OK Guys, Sorry to be so slow but had to baby sit 2- 2year olds and a 3 month old great grand babies this morning and just got back from Palo Duro Canyon. They are taking the 30a and 50a thing seriously now . Let me try to explain this after talking to the lady that has worked with us the last 2 years. Hackberry is 30 amp and has spaces 1thru32, Sagebrush is 50amp and has spaces 117 thru 146, Mesquite is 50 amp and has spaces 77 thru 96. They will work with us as much as they can and she has been great the last 2 years, even getting all of us in Sagebrush last year in spite of being fully booked. Even though we could all use the 30 amp it would be harder to get us all in Hackberry because it fills up quickly because it is $3.00 per night cheaper. We can go Thursday morning and give them a list of Names, reservations numbers and arrival date (Thursday, Friday or Saturday.) If we have the names of Any one with a 30amp reservation they can change it at this time only. They will not change 2 on Thursday and 2 more of Friday must be done at one time. If anyone is arriving earlier than Thursday just let us know and we will do it then. If we choose 50a and Sagebrush they will do everything they can to steer others to the other 50a campground. If we choose the 30 amp campground there are fewer spaces and they can not steer anyone away from these to the more expensive campground. So the chances of all of us getting in Hackberry is slim. I would suggest we try for 50amp campground and Sagebrush. She said they may not ask for a campground name but they are asking 30 or 50 amp when you make your reservation. If any questions please send me a pm an I will send you my phone number. Ed

reservation

Postby rockinrobin » Fri Nov 13, 2009 11:03 pm

I made a reservation today, Asked for Sagebrush, she said she could not give me a specific campground but she charged me for the 50 amp and said to get there early to be in Sagebrush and the spillover would be in Mesquite. I will go Thursday night or early Friday, reservation is for Friday and Saturday. Let me know if I can help in any way as I am just 60 miles away. Will PM reservation number later. Ronnie

I made a reservation yesterday and asked for Sagebrush w/50A ( Note to self, "Don't forget to bring your adapter!")

Ed and Ruby, I have sent my confirmation number and info to you! Thank you.
