I have a really good tent you can borrow. This is one of the "can't miss" gatherings. Get your butt down there, and you'll have a place to sleep.

Yeah I hear ya CD. I appreciate the offer, but I don't see myself ever tent campin again, we are getting an R Pad for Beavers Bend and if that turns out to be a good experience which I expect it will, if funds are in place and I am not just moved into my land and up to my neck in getting settled, then I will make a 100% effort to go. If those few things aren't in the way, I would love to be there! I'll do my best buddy, at least I have a truck that would cost me $500 in gas to get down there and back, that is how I am justifying the R -pod idea to myself. I'll keep ya posted~

Well, all of you have a blast at the Beach Bash. I will be arriving in Frankfurt Germany while you guys are setting up camp. Yep, the time is getting closer and closer for me to visit my daughter in Germany.

Well I guess I have all you guys confused. My response above was for the Beavers Bend thread. Wish I could make this one too but 625 miles one way is hard to do for a Friday, Saturday, Sunday trip. Larry P

Okay everybody, there is a little bit of a kink in the Beach Bash planning that you need to know about, but not panic about.

The Smellys have put their beach house up for sale, due to reasons mostly beyond their control.

If the house is not sold, we will have access to the main things we need, such as the downstairs bathroom and shower. The upstairs, which we didn't use, will have to remain ready to show to perspective buyers -- no big deal.

If the house does sell before Beach Bash, Eddie is working on finding a neighbor willing to accommodate these basic needs. The house next door to his is identical to his house, including the downstairs bathroom and shower. Eddie built it.

We may need to offer up a few bucks, or at least keep a neighbor well supplied with food and drink. At this point, we don't know. But, beach people are mostly easy going, and willing to help a party happen.

But, the folks I talked to at Beaver's Bend really want this to happen, and so do the Smellys. So, I see this as having about a 90-percent chance of happening as planned, for now.

I will keep you posted as I know more.

UPDATE: It's Still a Bash!!

It looks like the Smelley house is still going to be available, and they plan to be there. :applause:

We will only have access to the first floor, but that gives us a bathroom and a shower, and a place to hang out if it rains. Anyone who NEEDS electricity for health reasons will have the yard next to the house to set up, just like last year.

We will not know exactly where on the beach we'll be camping until a week or two before the Bash, because things change. We know for sure that last years big open area is gone, an we will probably have to line up along the dunes that have been rebuilt over the last year. That would put us between the dunes and the water, like Perkins crew was last year.

Food of Saturday. We can do a seafood boil, like last year, or a couple big pots of Gumbo. If we do gumbo, we can do one pot with seafood, and one without. Pleas chime in, so we can start assigning ingredients to bring.

It's only a month away.

Thanks for the update CD you are always good with the gatherings!

I got my land so I am in the process of the big move so I won't be able to make it this year, I hope to make it next year or if it no longer exists, maybe do a Matgorda weekend. Ya'll have fun!!!

She told me about running in to you and you were without a trailer and before she could say any thing else, I asked if she offered one of our trailers. Glad to assist.
