I was looking at property in the Ouachita forest and stayed there one weekend, I love that area and saw lots of trails/roads that you are talking about, I was wondering if it was just logging or If campers were welcome too! Cool!

The national forest is pretty much open as long as you stay on roads . the areas around Glover river and up on winding stair mt are the most remote but you may want to stay in a primitive camp area your first trip up

Sam Houston NP seems to be the closest place to me. (4-5 hours) I will head out there in the spring :twisted: :applause: :beer:
