Was just thinking about it...guess I waited too long, but there are no more sites available at Inks Lake. Looks like we won't ever get to camp there.

Steve,

Do you think they would let us double up. We are smaller.

Dave,

Just got a reservation in the primitive area. That's OK with me, but if they have any canselations, maybe we can get an upgrade to the side with utilities. At least we get to be there.

SteveH

Maybe it's just me, but this is what I see on the reserveamerica site:

Located across road, away from lake.
Terrain is rocky & hilly, but no steep inclines on trail.
Chemical toilets on trail.
Users MUST camp only in designated sites.

backpacking ONLY! 1-1.5 mile hike required to reach designated area.
NO water available.
Pets NOT ALLOWED in this area.
NO ground fires permitted.
NOT anywhere near the lake.

That's all fine by me (i'll be in a tent), but Doesn't look tear-friendly to me.

BG,

Don't know where I saw it, but there is a map of the primitive area and it shows driveway type camp sites, so that will work for a teardrop. I think "primitive" means no utilities.

Steve, the primitive sites are tent pads out in the woods. There is a parking area near the road with a path leading to the site. If they let us, I don't have a problem doubling up.

I told you guys that place fills up fast on holidays. I'd keep checking the reservations website. Sometimes there are cancellations, if you manage to catch one, you're in.

Rocky,

Are you saying the primitive sites are no good for a teardrop trailer?

I don't think you can get the trailer out there. I'll have to check the map though.
